Just happened to turn on coast-to-coast with George Noory. Some pro-gun guy talking about the importance of our rights, etc. Not sure if he’ll discuss this new law or not.

Yep, the GOA lives in its own little universe. ....emphasis on 'little'.

Their sole purpose: oppose the NRA on every conveivable issue, even if the issue in question is at odds with their stated purpose. A purely reactionary outfit.

...and DOES add a way to get your rights restored.

Will that be in the office next to the one Felons get their RKBA back from? Or next to the office the border fence is getting built out of?

Congress indeed deserves the blame.

But so does the Counerfeit Conservative in the White House who promised on the campaign trail he would sign no new gun laws.

In a few years, a diagnosis of high blood pressure will get you exempted from the Second Amendment.

Joseph Stalin declared anyone who actively disagreed with him as being mentally ill and threw them in a gulag or mental asylum. We may be headed in that direction here. Anyone who insists that they have a second amendment right would be declared too crazy to own a firearm.

Yeah, still a bad law, but even bad laws can be made better.

Yet one more thing that disappoints me about a president I helped elect twice.

Me, too.

Exactly the reason we cannot settle for a Rudy McRombee. Moderates or liberal have no place in the Republican party. They are shape-shifters and morph right after election back into the weasels they are trying to convince us they are not.

I agree. You can see in my Tagline who I support - and not just because of guns, but this issue was an initial attractor for me.

Yep. The GOA makes us in the gun culture look like raving ignorants.

They will receive no more money or support from me.

Yes, most of his opponents suffered from “depression” either before they were arrested, or after.

I can also verify, first-hand, that the VA is screening every single veteran for signs of PTSD when you go in to the clinic/hospital for any sort of checkup or visit. The nurse asks me the same questions every time I am in there, and there is nothing in my record to suggest I was even in any sort of situation that would lead to PTSD. It looks like it would be awfully easy to slip up just once and answer that you occasionally have bad dreams, or some such.

Fellow Veterans. Stand your ground as you did in combat. Most of us are law biding citizens. Hell I was a cop but just recently diagnosed with PTSD from the first Gulf Garbage. I have no felonies, I am a business owner and I love my guns. I seek weekly counsel for PTSD, but that does not mean I am going to go on a sniping spree! The only life I considered at one time to take was my own. But I have overcome that with Gods help. And see all the wonderful blessing He has given me. So what will they want to take next? My axe to chop wood with? My kitchen knives to cook dinner? My dangerous flammable gasoline to fill my car with at over 4 bucks a gallon? Hell I use my hunting rifle for deer season. So now my family can’t even eat deer meat?
Its all a part of “their” plan. The number one threat these one world government idiots have is the iron backbone of a veteran. They KNOW that if they can take our guns away from their plan, then the majority of the civilians are a breeze. I encourage each of you Vets who may have PTSD symptoms, to file any way. Get your disability and BUY MORE GUNS AND AMMO with it!
We are becoming their enemy! Just like a little President of the United States we all know named George Washington to England. So dig deep into your heart, stand the ground and fight for our rights. Use brains not brawn. We really need to wake up! Remember what happened to a soldier or Marine who fell asleep while on Bunker guard? Usually ended up with his throat slit.
And lastly for all the Vets who do want to end the pain. Don’t do it. Your family may not understand, and the fact is they will never understand because they JUST WERE NOT THERE! For you men, try to understand and feel child birth. Get it? Stick close with other Vets and talk it out. There is light at the end of that dark lonely tunnel. And in closing, don’t give these idiots any ammo against this. If you are having “issues” keep that in mind when you grab your weapon. For our sake and freedom.

Welcome to FReeRepublic.com. I tried searching your name by the "user" function, as opposed to seaarching for titles or keywords, but I found nothing. I guess that was your first post to this forum.

Since you wrote that you were diagosed with PTSD, check out exposure therapy with the VA. Click on the exposure therapy link, and you'll do a search on this forum for exposure therapy as a keyword, also known as a tag. So far, exposure therapy is the only treatment that has been shown to work for PTSD, according to those stories.

Enter "exposure therapy" and PTSD into the query box at PubMed if you want to search the professional literature. I recommend saving two medical links: Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary and http://medlineplus.gov/, the last link includes a medical dictionary, and it's written for the general public.

P.S. I'm a family practice doc who was a grunt in Vietnam.
