This January 11th, wear green and help counter the left’s campaign of appeasing terrorists.

The ACLU has a campaign going on to close Guantanamo and release detained al-Qaida and other terrorists captured during our country’s Global War on Terrorism.

Show you support the War on Terrorism, our Troops, their mission–and the detainment of dangerous terrorists at Guantanamo. Wear green January 11th!

By way of disclosure, this is a plug for something I came up with just today, so I apologize for such short notice. But I was angered when I learned leftists everywhere will be wearing orange on January 11 to protest the detention of terrorists at Guantanamo. I wanted to counter them by asking patriotic Americans to wear green this Friday, January 11, to show their support for the detainment of terrorists at Guantanamo.

I usually wear red on Fridays, to show support for the troops. Wouldn’t that work as well?

What a strange color choice. If any color has long been associated with Islam, it’s green.

Interesting. Most of the folks I work with wear green on Fridays - and the rest of the week as well.

Must be because I work on the local Air Force base......I support the troops every day.

Good luck.

Wearing specific colors is just a feel-good emotional pacifier for leftists who, lacking courage, cannot find a more effortless, painless and noncommittal way of trying to belong to a movement.

If you want to mess with the minds of any people dumb enough to think wearing orange says anything meaningful about the detainment of the murderous societal outcasts in Gitmo, just print up a bunch of flyers advertising "Support Squirrel Hunting- Wear Hunter's Orange on January 11" or flyers that say "Love Orange Juice? So do we. Show it with Orange Shoes," or flyers that say "Orange Ya Glad There Is Gitmo?," and post them all over your campus and local hangouts early that morning. That should irk them a bit, and it only takes one person to sow chaos.

It's an Irish thing. Orange is for the Protestant colonists of northern Ireland sent by William of Orange. Green is for the Catholic south that split off from Great Britain.

In that sense, green is the un-orange.

The ACLU has a campaign going on to close Guantanamo

The ACLU should take every prisoner and have them boarded at the members respected residences and homes, have them play with their kids, babysit, do some housework, etc. It is the friendly socialist way of treating the victims of American imperialism.

“If any color has long been associated with Islam, it’s green.”

Yes. To honor Ramadan last year the Empire State Building was lit up in all green:

Green is considered the traditional color of Islam. Green was supposedly Mohammad’s color. It is the color of Libya’s flag. Iran has a green stripe in their flag as a symbol of their Islamic ideology.

Weird choice is correct or just plain ole’ stupid.

No offense, but GREEN? What happened to Red, White, and Blue?

Regardless of the color you choose, I like your spirit!

I was thinking of military (olive drab) green when I thought of the color, and in my haste to get the word out by January 11 (the idea only occurred to me this week), I didn’t consider that green is the color of Islam. Oh well, consider this my “duh” moment of the week. :-)

Well, I’ll be wearing a green shirt with USA in red white and blue. I doubt if anyone will mistake for a muzzi.

Thanks. In retrospect, perhaps red, white and blue would’ve been a better choice. See my response to 444flyer—I picked green because of the military.
