President Bush, summing up meetings with both sides in the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, said today that a peace accord will require "painful political concessions" by each. Resolving the status of Jerusalem will be hard, he said, and he called for the end of the "occupation" of Arab land by the Israeli military.
"Now is the time to make difficult choices," Bush said after a first-ever visit to the Palestinian territories, which followed separate meetings with Israeli leaders in Jerusalem the day before.
Bush is in the Mideast for eight days, trying to bolster his goal of achieving a long-elusive peace agreement by the end of his presidency in a year. Speaking at his hotel in Jerusalem, he said again that he thinks that is possible.

Meanwhile the elected leader of Israel wants to give the arabs Jerusalem itself, nothing to see hear move on now
Well, the good news is, Bush’s term is almost up.
President Bush is going to be a tough act to follow.
Very, very disappointing. Desperation for Legacy.
Hey wise up George, the Arab nations had one goal in every one of their wars, which was the extinction of Israel, as it turned out, Israel kicked their asses, and occupied territory as the ‘spoils of war’.
If the Arab nations had wiped out Israel, would you now be calling for them to vacate what used to be called Israel, as ‘Arab occupied land’?
[crickets all the way to Crawford Texas chirping]
No, I didn’t think so.
What’s next Mr. President, you going to suggest that America surrender all that ‘occupied land’ we seized from Mexico?
I like seeing Hamas salute the American President, just hope he is telling the Israeli’s to carpet bomb at first show of hostility.
Maybe President Bush should give the Black Hills back to the Sioux Nation. The Supreme Court ruled 27 years ago that they are the rightful owners.
If The Israelis are stupid enough to dismember their nation to please a lame-duck American President, they deserve whatever happens to them.
Why is our President trying to “kick against the pricks”? For the meaning see Acts 26:14

They are Fatah. Hamas is in charge in Gaza. The Fatah are acting “buddy-buddy” with us now. Not saying that there is a real difference between those two flavors of terrorists, though.
Paraphrasing ElMort yesterday...
“We have been bombarded daily from Gaza by rocket attack after rocket attack... ...we may never have this chance at peace again.”
You just have to shake your head and wonder what the hell these folks are thinking. What basis for peace is there when the Palestinians don’t keep their promises, continue to try to kill Israelis indescriminantly, and make no bones about the fact that they demand Jerusalem.
It’s kinda like obituaries of famous people; the major news outlets pre-write them and periodically update them, only in the case of an exiting president, his ghostwriters are already busy on his post-presidential N.Y. Times best seller and only Jimmy Carter came close to “success,” got his book though, along with the Nobel.
Yes.
And the horizon does not seem to promise any great leaders in our near future.
Take a hike, Bush.
Bring Rice with you, too.
You know, when I first saw the bumper stickers referencing 1/20/2009 (as in, when Bush will be out of office), it bothered me. These days, I’m tempted to get one myself.
Sounds like he's setting Israel up to get the big knife in the back from Hil-liar-y or B. Hussein Obama in '09.
Be careful what you say there. Parody has a way of becoming reality in this strange new world.
Sort of, he’s letting them come back and take it a piece at a time.
If we abandon Israel, God will abandon us.
It is written.
BLOAT, lock & load and pray often!
