I have had run-ins with a group of new evangelicals. In listening to their public and private discussions of doctrinal issues, it was clear that they did not consider Catholics to be Christian, .... theBuckwheat

Same old mantra some of ya'll here insist on eh? 50 year old southern baptist here....fundamentalist-literalist-almost charismatic... yet no one i know of here thinks Catholics are not Christian...never heard that in my life .....wardaddy

Wardaddy, I’d like to introduce you to Lily4Jesus.

" ... it is true Catholics are not Christians they are ROMAN Catholics. They know Christ like I know President Bush. I know about President Bush but I don’t know him in a personal way. ............. 59 posted on 01/11/2008 8:43:28 PM PST by Lily4Jesus ( Jesus Saves)"

He definitely seems to be most in his element when he is talking about his beliefs.

I think that's true and he's really out of his element when he talks about foreign policy - embarrassingly so. And I know which is more important when electing a president.

interesting, I don't see why they would think Catholics are not Christian, especially considering they derive their version of the trinity from the Catholics Nicene_Creed

And Jefferson was an ass.

I want to make sure that I correctly understand what you're saying. Are you saying that Thomas Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence, perhaps the most important and profound political document in human history, was an ass? I have heard some ignorant things on FR, but this one takes the cake.

The passover is not complete until the lamb is consumed. Come, taste & see. Only then will your covenant with Christ be complete. Or... will you, too, go away?

Exactly, everything is a joke to Huckabee, except when he starts passing his collection I mean tax plate. Now how much money did God require of His children??? How many times did Jesus take a collection and call it compassionate giving?

Sorry but I've already studied the Fair Tax and calculated that I'd save around $3000 in personal taxes. Even better, my consulting company would have around a 20% tax savings and I wouldn't have to play unreasonable accounting games with the IRS. I'll be able to compassionately give a lot more alms. Apparently the other candidates don't have the balls to do anything except dick around with the rates of the IRS code with all it's statist behavior controls and regulations.

We have a liberal Congress with but a few actual Conservatives. Congress makes the laws and it will be when the people elect a willing Congress that will change the tax collection system. What we have now are people staying up all hours of the night to assess where they can take another nickle, dime, and dollar from the income earners of this nation. Not even when President Reagan got a liberal Congress to agree to cut spending could he enforce that agreement.

Now how much money did God require of His children when He set up their government system under His law handed down to Moses?

Since I am from New Orleans originally, All I knew growing up was Catholics! We gave directions to our houses based on church parishes! Ah the innocence of youth... Here in Georgia, a lot of Baptists, now I am afraid to go outside!!!

Why would a preacher for Jesus make any Christian uncomfortable???? Just asking.

Some Protestant preachers have been very anti-Catholic. A good example would be Bob Jones.

He hasn't been anti-Catholic from what I see. I guess he is smart enough not to alienate 1/4 of the electorate.

However, I don't like his liberal fiscal record.
