Mike Allen's Playbook: Ohio to decide nominee? [Clinton's Damage Control - The Dems Race War]
Politico Playbook ^ | January 12, 2008 | Mike Allen

Posted on 01/12/2008 7:19:32 AM PST by no dems

President Clinton, attempting damage control with the civil rights community in an interview on Sirius Left, the satellite radio system's liberal talk channel:

"This is what happens anytime anyone tries to question a statement or a position of Senator Obama. The response is, 'You're attacking me personally,' and that relieves him of the obligation to address the substance. … Number one, I brag on Barack Obama in every speech I give — every single one. I have given hundreds of speeches all over America and anybody who has heard me speak, or my wife, will tell you, I always start by bragging on Senator Obama and the other candidates as well. And I respect why many in the African-American community are supporting him and how proud they are of him."

BRUTAL - one of only four stories on the front page of today's The State of Columbia, South Carolina's dominant newspaper - "Clinton camp hits Obama — Attacks 'painful' for black voters: Many in state offended by criticism of Obama, remarks about King," By Wayne Washington:

"Sharp criticism of Barack Obama and other comments about Martin Luther King Jr. — all from people associated with Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign — have generated resentment among some black S.C. voters."

YeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaa!!!! YES, YES, YES !!! A race war is brewing between the Clintons and Black America.

This Dem nominating process could divide the Democratic Party and put a Pubbie back in the White House.

Ya gotta love it!

Yes, but just wait until Hill gets the nomination, does NOT select Obama as VP candidate, the blacks will just shuffle back to the Democrat Plantation and take their whippings.

President Clinton

That brings up an interesting point. If Hillary was already co-President for two-terms is she even qualified to run again?

Even in his response, Clinton is dismissing Obama and doing so using race. For example, he says that he understands why the “African-American” community is proud of Obama and supporting him; however, he is conveniently ignoring the fact that Obama has many white supporters too.

I never told anybody to lie - not a single time.

I’m thinking the Republican nominee should consider a black VP running mate.

Obama got 34% in Iowa and 36% in NH. If you consider the size of the black vote in both states (and assume that almost all black voters voted Democratic), at least 80% of Obama’s voters must have been white in Iowa and at least 90% in New Hampshire.

Why? Bush appointed more blacks to high position in his cabinet than any president in history and the NAALCP still called him a Nazi.

The Republican Party is trying to increase its share of the black vote, but most black voters seem unwilling to vote for a conservative black person. The black Republicans with the highest name recognition are Colin Powell, Condi Rice, and Clarence Thomas, none of whom have ever won an election. We wouldn't want Thomas to leave the Court, I doubt Condi would help the ticket win, and Powell was disloyal to Bush (keeping quiet when the Valerie Plame business was damaging Bush, when Powell knew who really leaked her name).

J. C. Watts might help in Oklahoma, but if the Republicans have to worry about Oklahoma, the situation is hopeless...it would be like naming Romney as VP candidate to be sure of carrying Utah.

How 'bout Cynthia McKinney? She's black and a woman. I know she could carry both the Black community and the woman vote. /sarc.

Now that Miss Hitlery can refer to Obama’s doing his SPADE work, can Santa resume his Ho Ho Ho greeting?
