Yeah - he’s a threat to the party because he hides his liberalism behind his faith.

If he ran saying “I let prisoners go and they kill again” and “I want open borders, and you are a racist if you don’t” and wasn’t a Baptist Minister, no one would give him the time of day - at least in the Republican party.

Think “Jesse Jackson” in his pre-pro-abortion days and you have Huckabee.

There is no moral imperative to expand government: Huck and his idiot followers don’t see that.

“Huckabee says he’s a threat to the GOP establishment”

He should have just said that he’s a threat to the GOP.

Popcorn for breakfast? Not me. I have a T-boner and red peppers getting nice and brown. There will be 2 eggs sunny side up and toast with butter and honey. Hmmm. I have some coleslaw too. Burp! No need for lunch after pigging out this way!

Huckabee is a threat to all Republicans everywhere, the same as Hillary Clinton and Obama are.

The big problem I see right now is Huckabee has such a huge ego and his win in Iowa has given him a taste of power I could see this TV maniac creating a third party ticket.

Unfortunately, his IQ doesn’t match Perot, but he would nothing more than be a spoiler in this election.

It’s just second nature to the guy, IMHO.

Mike Huckabee will just be another George Bush.

It's a BS comparison. President Bush does badmouth CEO pay, company profits, free trade, the Club for Growth, a tough foreign policy, trans fat foods, tobacco, etc. Big, big difference.

a threat to small government, a threat to a strong foreign policy, a threat to a strong national defense.

And, a threat to school choice (teachers unions love the Huckster)
And, a threat to lowering taxes (raised taxes $500 million)
And, a threat to legal immigration (supports college tuition for illegals)

You’re right, I should have said “worse” than George Bush.

Semms to me he fits in fine with today’s GOP.

A shadow is a threat to the GOP. The GOP leadership is so feckless ... they are Democrats. The Huckster would not have a chance if there was actually a leader to choose from. No candidate is perfect but the GOP itself is vulnerable on 3 key issues:

1. Immigration
2. Big government
3. Trying to get along with Democrats.

All 3 are failures of the Bush Administration.

Thompson basically invited the Huckster to leave the GOP. He should. Some Southern Baptists can be as stupid like anyone else. They are not that way. I went to services and I’m a Catholic. I also went to Synogogue. And Orthodox Mass. That one is a physical endurance test for hours and you have to dress up too.
