Following the lead of New York City and Brookline, health regulators in Boston last night took the first step toward banning artery-clogging trans fat from French fries, doughnuts, and other food sold in restaurants and corner stores. more stories like this
The Boston Public Health Commission voted unanimously, after little discussion, to give preliminary approval to a ban that would take effect late this year if it receives another thumbs-up in the spring. Commission members were spurred to action by scientific evidence linking artificial trans fat to heart disease in humans and to diabetes and obesity in animal studies. Brookline approved a similar ban last May.

And if anyone thinks it is bad now, just wait until federally-funded universal health-care really gives the government nannies a "mandate" to reduce costs, engage in more "preventative care measures", and find other ways to take a collective dump upon the already shredded remains of the US Constitution.

So long as a government hands out clean needles to druggies in support of their illegal and directly fatal behavior, and allow people to tear living humans out of their wombs, they should absolutely not dictate what people can legally eat. Subsidize drug use and infanticide, but regulate my lunch?
Remember when transfats were supposed to be good for you? If the government is going to be passing laws based on every medical fad that comes along, they’ll be doing nothing else.

While I agree government not doing anything else is a good thing -— I don’t want them doing nothing because they are too occupied doing such STUPID stuff as this.

Thanks for the ping. Since KFC took this action voluntarily, I decided to vote with my dollars and not reward their decision. Besides, their chicken hasn’t tasted like the “original” for awhile anyway.
Since I get to vote in the primary today, I am obligated to say.....I’d bet that the Huckster would support this on a national level!
Of course Huck would support it. After all, “preventing” diabetes before it costs the State money for medical care is appropriate.
If the Gubmint is paying for your health care, it’s their right to intervene and reduce their costs. That’s Collectivism 101.

I agree. I always tell the jokers that want “free” health care that the day the government provides health care is the day that the government takes control of their body.
You know, as much as I think Alex Jones is a kook, I saw one of his videos one time out of morbid curiosity, and he offered a quote that is perfectly fitting when it comes to the food nazis, and it refers to Hitler :
“He told them that they would have an utopia world and everything would be given to them by the state aslong as they offer total support for their fuhrer. The people bought the eutopia and were totally enslaved.”
Now just replace “He” with “She” and “fuhrer” with Madame President”, and you have the perfect description of Hillary when it comes to Hillarycare.
