Ex-Lawmaker Charged in Terror Conspiracy

Jan 16 02:42 PM US/Eastern By LARA JAKES JORDAN Associated Press Writer 19 Comments

WASHINGTON (AP) - A former congressman and delegate to the United Nations was indicted Wednesday as part of a terrorist fundraising ring that allegedly sent more than $130,000 to an al-Qaida and Taliban supporter who has threatened U.S. and international troops in Afghanistan.

The former Republican congressman from Michigan, Mark Deli Siljander, was charged with money laundering, conspiracy and obstructing justice for allegedly lying about lobbying senators on behalf of an Islamic charity that authorities said was secretly sending funds to terrorists.

"Note that Rep. Siljander lists George H.W. Bush and Duncan Hunter as references #1 and #2 on his corporate website."

Bush doesn't surprise me, but Hunter does.

former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright honored Ambassador Siljander, at the United Nations, for his efforts toward a more just, humane and peaceful world.

This caught me off guard, when I learned of who the ex-Congressman was.

Ah dang, the guy is from around where I currently live.

Good thing I didn’t live here when he was in office.

REAL Americans wouldn't suggest accusation=guilt, but, of course, you know that.

That's not how it works at FR anymore.
If the MSM reports something that fits into your given agenda, it's gospel.

Also, guilt by association rules the roost here too. Listed #2 as a reference on this scumbags website? Stick a fork in Hunter, he's done. /sarcasm

“Did Siljander convert to Islam?”

I don’t know. Here’s a bit.

Also:

Human rights groups have accused State Foreign Minister and former paramilitary commander Ali Ahmed Farki of crimes against humanity in Southern Sudan and Darfur. Why did the U.S. grant Farki a visit to the U.S.? Do you expect to be granting more visas to senior Sudanese officials in the near future?

Deputy Foreign Minister Karti came to the United States on a private visit as a guest of former Congressman Mark Siljander of Michigan. He was not invited by the United States Government and did not meet with anyone at the Department of State.

Debbie Schlussel used to work for him.

She thinks he was in it for the money.

At first I was surprised to see he was a Republican but then on second thought there is no longer any difference between Repukes and DemRats. All Republican (not including Hunter) presidential candidates are poised to sell us out and open the borders. Im staying home on 2/5/08 and 11/04/08. To hell with it all.

Evidently, the man was very former, as in 25 years former. He was appointed to fill out a term for some Republican who resigned and then on to win re-election, but was knocked out in the primary the next time around.

Sounds to me like a Globalist corporation, I wonder why Hunter would want to be associated with that? Corporate Services ■ International marketing and financing of advanced hydrogen fuel cells ■ Development for foreign trade and business requiring visits with heads of state ■ Project strategies for rebuilding post war Iraq and Algeria after the earthquake of 2003 ■ Funding of start-ups, expanding entities, emerging technologies and trade programs ■ Servicing one of the largest insurance companies in Asia ■ Marketing of US Government Employees Association ■ Promotion and marketing of Boeing Aircraft in Southern Asia ■ Expanding client base for a fund management firm ■ Identify and negotiate crude oil projects ■ Negotiating settlement of foreign government debt for corporations & individuals ■ Marketing large scale services such as maintenance and cleaning to private and government sectors ■ Coordinating international merger and acquisitions for over 25 clients ■ Establishing world-class board of advisors and directors for numerous companies ■ Expanding land development projects in South Korea ■ Developing a national sales team marketing telecom services

No, really? It must have taken you all of 5 minutes to look that up. Why bother when it only takes 20 seconds to post a reply that make no sense at all?

Interesting about Siljander that he was criticized as being “too Conservative” for his heavily GOP district. He won it in the 1981 special when he succeeded the flaky RINO Dave Stockman (who last I heard was indicted last year on a variety of charges). At one point, Siljander was accused of being anti-Semitic because of his support for a particular Christian Conservative candidate. When he was defeated for a 4th term in 1986 by Fred Upton in the primary, Barone dismissed him as one of the “wackiest and least effective congressmen on the right.”

I don’t know how Siljander became infatuated with Mohammadanism, but it’s hard to believe he’d be so psychotically stupid to knowingly get involved with laundering money for terrorists.

LOL, yeah it doesn’t look real good, however, I am still going to wait until I hear all the evidence.

I strongly suspect you are right. It would explain the push we are seeing where Islam is elevated above all other religions as having the right to respect and study in our public schools, the right to have prayer rooms and foot baths in public and private buildings, all without any interference by those organizations that usually can’t wait to bring complaints to the legal system, like the ACLC. Someone, or maybe many someones, are supporting all of this, it can’t be happening by accident.
