The Georgetown Park Mall's Department of Motor Vehicles service center was closed Wednesday after FBI agents conducted a raid there.
D.C. Police officers along with FBI and ICE agents arrested a female employee for selling driver's licenses.
The DMV's own integrity officer said eight months ago, he was investigating for a law enforcement agency when he learned about the incident and alerted the authorities.
The D.C. inspector general's office took over from there, alerting the FBI and other law enforcement authorities.
Agents also arrested four addition suspects. All five suspects will appear in U.S. District Court Thursday.
Three years ago, a similar incident took place at the same service center.

In 2001, before 9/11, the Feds were investigating a license ring in Pittsburgh - a man was selling Hazmat licenses to Iraqis. NOT saying that this new cse is terror (more likely “just” illegal immigrants) but just some info that is interesting.
I hope we’re not going to see a chorus of criticism here. After all, this the first sign of serious entrepreneurial, private enterprise spirit we’ve seen out of the District of Columbia in some time.
At least they weren't being niggardly in handing them out.

That happened at the Springfield Mall back in '05.
Same thing happened in Virginia and Pennsylvania and North Caroline, except they were selling CDL's.
I will bet this is going on in the Maryland MVA too. Motor vehicle clerks all seem to have an eye peeled for bribes no matter where they are.
