The only reason he is signing this stupid pledge is because he trying to over come his HORRIBLE record on illegal immigration in Arkansas. If his views on illegal immigration had been right to begun with he wouldn’t have to do this stupid publicity stunt. He’s weak on illegal immigration and he always will be.

Quote it all you want. Everyone will expect Fred to endorse McCain, which is precisely why he won’t.

Im sure McCain would feel comfortable sighing it too.Sure he'd sign it. He's always been against amnesty. Of course, he does support a pathway to citizenship.

Good that Huckabee signs this pledge, bringing more attention to the issue. I'd be interested to hear his current speeches on the issue, and his reasoning. And his thoughts on his previous position.
If he's now sincere and dedicated in opposition to illegal immigration then he meets some high criteria for the next President:
A successful 2-term-plus Governor who is consistantly Pro-Family and Fair Trade, and now maybe a true convert to Immigration Control.

There is a reason we are a secular society, with a secular Constitution, and not a theocracy, and plan to stay that way.
The Constitution reflects founding principles, not universal truths. They differ.
That does not conflict with religion, religion is a separate matter altogether. People can live together in a secular society anyway they want.

Huckabee isn’t any better than McCain. I will not vote for either one of them if they make it to the general election and neither will many other CONSERVATIVES. If one of them get the nomination it will be an easy win for the democrat nominee.

How does this square with him supporting tuition breaks for illegals?

Huckabee is a liar and a fraud. His ACTIONS regarding illegal aliens and amnesty as governor of AR speak so much louder than his pandering words.
The words of Jesus Christ from Matthew 7:
15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. “

Surely Fred will not endorse McCain - McCain’s record on illegal aliens is insane.

VERY VERY IMPRESED WITH HUCK SIGNING THE "AMNESTY PLEDGE." THIS MAN MEAN BUSINESS!... :) Let's see how I see him:
1-leaving no doubts on his anti-illegal immigration views with his pledge.
2-Very clear on protecting the unborn,
3-Very clear in is position on Traditional-family (anti fag-marriage)
4-Understands the need to have a very powerful MILITARY
shows concern for the 'American worker'
Yeah... I like him :)

A pair of natural alliances are forming...
McCain and Huckabee.
Romney and Thompson.
Each pair is running against the other pair. Each member of the pair can help the other member of the pair.
Giuliani is out there all by himself.
