Giuliani, Romney and Thompson are the only true conservatives? This seems like an odd grouping of candidates. Most FReepers agree that Thompson is conservative but most also know that Giuliani is a liberal. A majority think that Mitt Romney was a liberal and became a conservative just to run for POTUS. Does it seem crazy to anyone else that all the talk radio hosts keep claiming that each one of these are acceptable and good candidates? Why is it that almost every FReeper disagrees with Rush, Sean, Levin,.. that Giuliani would be a good candidate? Are they wrong or is FR wrong?
Something isn't right here. I am one who has thought that there is a concerted effort by the 'conservative' media to get Mitt Romney elected. I know that recently, Rush and the others have been promoting Fred but they don't really distinguish him too much from Romney and Giuliani. We know that Anne Coulter thinks that Huckabee and Thompson are jokes and I assume that she supports Mitt or Rudy as well.
I don't think that Rush or the others like Thompson or want him to win. Right now, they need him to take out Huckabee so that he doesn't get momentum going into Florida and super Tuesday. I can understand that Fred Heads welcome the support their guy has been getting recently but is it just a way to get Mitt nominated?
Back in November and December, I don't remember ever hearing good things about Thompson on the radio. It was only when he was down and out without a chance of winning that the talk show hosts started pushing him.
My question for all of you is what did anyone in the 'conservative' media say or do to defend Fred Thompson when Anne Coulter attacked him and called him Fred Sawyer?
Does it seem odd that the 'conservative' media keeps lumping Giuliani, Romney and Thompson together?
From a limited government Western Sagebrush Rebellion conservative Republican perspective, Rudy is just about as far from a conservative as they get. As they say with complete distain in the salsa commercial - “New York City?”
Not to dispute that, but he has jumped on the Romney bandwagon now I believe.

Given the wave of Republican retirement and resignation from the Congress the high probability is that Congress will be solidly Democrat after November. Even if the Republican president appoints solid Constitutionalists to the Court, the result will be liberals on the bench because the Senate will not confirm good judges and the president will then send up second or third choices chosen for their ability to be confirmed. If Giuliani would promise to leave seats vacant rather than appoint judges that the Senate will approve, then I might support him. No Republican candidate could stand to leave a seat vacant. They all seem to think that the Court must have nine Justices. That is not supported n the Constitution. There can be any number of USSC Justices. There can be three or there can be a hundred.
Hmmm, ya think he would use the bully pulpit to drill Anwar, Florida offshore, more in the Gulf and crank up the pumps off of California? And get more refineries started? And get some Nuke plants built? And bring the areas of low sulfur coal into production that Clinton put in Federal Park land?
Rush Limbaugh has said that he trusts Romney to govern just like he says he will.
Thanks to the support that President Keys received from the Freepers in 1999, he was able to win the office of President.
Can’t say I know as much about him as Rudy, Fred or Huckleberry.
“Giuliani, Romney and Thompson are the only true conservatives(Vanity)”
You appear to be delusional. Thompson is the only conservative of the three, Mitt is a moderate and Rudy is a flaming liberal.
Ignore my last, misunderstood.
There were a lot of us that saw through that.
My thoughts exactly!
no=now
Now that would be interesting.
I would also be happy with DH as Sec. of Defense.
FR is wrong about Romney. He is NOT a Liberal and never was.
