His success as the first man to step on the summit of Mount EverestThat statement is false. Hillary's Sherpa guide, Tinsang Norgay(?) was the fist to summit. Hillary always acknowledged this.

Just for fun, join the YouTube sing-along that celebrates the 10-year anniversary of Drudge breaking the Lewinsky story - http://youtube.com/watch?v=YiOoYMafH_Q If you like, leave a few choice comments.

Me too, doug.
What am I going to do with the open bottle of champagne now?

My famous family, Doug.
My late Father was on a first name basis with Sir Edmund.
I met and interviewed Gerald Ford during his presidential run.
Neither of us ever met HRC.

Allow me to exercise a moment of nostalgia. I was 9 years old in 1953. The coronation of Elizabeth and the summit of Mt. Everest was a double feature at the movies, each allotted 1/2 hour I think. The absolute biggest news of all. To me this was the real beginning of the 50’s!

Now I’ve lit up this cigar and poured champagne and I don’t even smoke or drink. So what do I do now?
To: doug from upland
The Queen is in her 80s. I think it’s a bit much to expect her to travel half-way around the world for a funeral, even if it was a close family member...
