Barack Obama was directly confronted on prime time television last night over allegations swirling around the internet that he is a secret Muslim who worships the Koran, during a Democratic presidential debate in Las Vegas.
Mr Obama, who was raised as a Christian by his white mother despite his Kenyan father being Muslim, has been dogged by smears and innuendo for months that he is in fact an Islamist trying to enter the Oval office by stealth.
"Let's make clear what the facts are: I am a Christian. I have been sworn in with a Bible. I pledge allegiance [to the American flag] and lead the pledge of allegiance sometimes in the United States Senate when I'm presiding."
Mr Obama is a member of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ and is an actively practising Christian. But opponents, particularly on the Republican side, delight in reminding people that his middle name is Hussein, taken from his father, a Harvard educated economist who left the family when Mr Obama was two

What he means is he has no allegiance to Islam nor to Christ, he is a humanist! Even his church is all about a social gospel, not about redemption or the Lordship of Christ over ethics. Christian to Obama means political western affiliation, he has the audacity to hope it wont matter.
The idea the Obama is a Muslim is a Clinton lie. Just about that simple.

It would have made more sense if the article had referenced the actual question, which was along the lines of “there are lots of rumors circulating about you - that you’re a muslim, that you were sworn in on the Koran, that you refuse to pledge allegience to the flag blah blah blah”
I think he just forgot about the hand-over-the-heart practice in the flag picture. If he’d been behind the others he would have realized his mistake.

Just sloppy journalism, perhaps. After his years spent in foreign lands (Indonesia, Harvard) and his failure to place his hand over his heart, I was beginning to wonder whether Obama was genuinely ignorant as to the meaning of the pledge of allegiance.
I don’t think he’s currently a Muslim, but he is a little coy with how he was raised. He grew up in a Muslim country with a Muslim step-father, who took him to Mosque, where he prayed as a Muslim. He may have changed his mind subsequently, but he is an apostate to the Muslim world, and to our world, he is someone who will be a little too favorable to Muslims and their stone-age religion at this point in our history. We need someone who does not believe they are the “ROP” and someone who sees their threat not as religious but political. They are a fascist Arab imperialist movement. Obama will respect their phony religion too much. I don’t respect Nazis and Islam is just a form of Nazism for Arabs.

I have forgotten it before, until I notice others doing it but I'm a whole lot older than osama obama. I'm a vet and I'd rather salute than do the hand over heart thing but I don't know if that is acceptable for someone not in uniform.
I agree, this is a very strange non-answer. It leads me to believe more than ever that his membership in the UCC is a matter of convenience only, plus the fact that you can go through a whole UCC service, as I have, and never hear the name of the Lord spoken once.
Any true Christian would simply speak to the saving grace of the incarnate God Jesus Christ-- but those words would probably burn this moslem pagan's lips.
I don’t think I will be finding out if he is a Muslum. I will not vote for him.
He claims that his muslim father played no role in his religious upbringing, and that his Christian mother placed him in Catholic school, in Indonesia, for four years. I find it very hard to believe that his Christian mother wanted to raise him strictly Christian but none-the-less named him Barak Hussein Obama. There's far too much contradictory evidence that he is truly a Christian. Also, Obama himself states that his step father was indeed a practicing Muslim. After his mother's second marriage Obama spent at least one year in a predominently MUSLIM school, after his Catholic schooling, in Indonesia, which is a predominently MUSLIM nation. After graduating from college, Obama began attending a congregation affiliated with the United Church of Christ , a Protestant denomination. Obama stated that he was moved by the "power of the African-American religious tradition to spur social change". His African affairs centered 'church' is seeking social change more than anything else.
I don't know exactly what Obama is, but he surely is one very confused man. He has affiliations with two institutions that believe they have the innate right to lie to advance their beliefs, Islam and the Democrat Party.
