WASHINGTON - U.S. Capitol Police arrested a man carrying a rifle outside the Capitol building Friday, authorities said.
The man was in custody and no one was injured, police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider.
An officer first spotted the man near Union Station, about two blocks from the Capitol. A car belonging to the suspect was being searched.
Isn’t Washington a gun free zone? What the fella’s name? Mohamed trikit?
UPDATE II: Schneider announced Capitol Police will “disrupt” a truck possibly belonging to the man who was arrested. Meaning they will spray water at the vehicle to see if anything explodes inside before they inspect the van and suspicious objects inside. Schneider still will not comment on the suspicious contents inside the van.
Police are evacuating the Teamsters building nearby, but no Capitol buildings have been evacuated at this point. A swarm of media and police now crowd the streets surrounding the van.
UPDATE III: The “disruption” prompts a “loud boom,” John reports from the street nearby.
That picture say so much on so many levels, it will never fade from my memory. I like to see it from time to time. It’s always good for an inital laugh, and a residual reflection on liberalism.
>>Was this a Ron Paul supporter seeking to overthrow the Bush dictatorship? :>)<<
CNN is quoting a eye witness as saying he asked her for directions to the Supreme Court and another eye witness who said she heard him say “I have to get to the supreme court.”
this is my rifle. this is my gun. this for shooting. and this is for fun. :)
Wow. Thanks for the updates.
The way FNC was explaining things, that “loud boom” was the “disruption”.
I believe everything Julie Banderas says.
Every single word. :)
Utah plates.
Militant Mormon?

Ahhh! Those were the days.
“The man was walking down 1st St., NE, with a tactical vest, a loaded shotgun, a tactical bow and arrow and a samurai sword in a hidden case behind his back.”
Either he’s a kook, or he’s prepared for every eventuality.
Way to charm the justices.
OK I’m dumb.
What’s a “tactical bow and arrow”?
A bit shorter than a strategic bow and arrow?
LoL!
