Video of pre-caucus interview in Nevada with Duncan Hunter, covering National Security, Illegal Immigration, American Job Security, Health Care Reform.
Bump!!!
Is there a way to download these video’s from youtube? I want to show them to some friends who don’t have internet access...
“Sympathy to he DH fans but I have been in Nevada all week and I have heard several DH radio ads. I agree 100% with his messages but the the delivery explains why he cant poll above half of double digits. If it were all about the best ideas and principles America could be run by a Freeper somewhere in his pajamas, but elective politics in a republic is retail sales game. You have to sell the ideas. DH has great product but he cant sell it”

Right. That’s why he beat an incumbent Democrat and won his seat in the high 60% every time. That’s why every time a crowd gets to hear him, his poll numbers show it.
We don’t need your sympathy for doing the right thing. Save the sympathy for all of us when we’re stuck with another ‘compassionate conservative’ or worse.
CPAC 2007, Day 2: Duncan Hunter wows em
Duncan Hunter is on the 2008 map. He woke up the Day 2 CPAC audience with a machine-gun like 20 minute address focused largely on the issues of our misbegotten trade policies, the war and illegal immigration. Did not try to do too much, and he did it very well.
The result was numerous standing ovations and a huge scrum outside the ballroom with press and audience members seeking additional time with the congressman.
Mike Huckabee, who spoke about an hour later, was by contrast too cerebral and tried to cover too much, and consequently received a more subdued response.
Listen to Hunters address here.

Thanks for the ping. Prayers for DH.
Would you support Hunter as the GOP nominee, lets say, if there was a moderate centrist Republican also in the race in November as an independent, running against Hunter and either Hitlery or Obama or Edwards, i.e. three way race?
However, nothing can be done about it, so the best thing is just to LOVE them and counter bump every comment they make, because they have the net effect of bring Duncan Hunter threads to the top on FR and by and large we want these threads a) heavily visited and noticed, and b) running well over 100-200 replies in a day or so if possible, to further get the word out within the US Conservative movement. FR is the premiere site and is read by MILLIONs, so in a way, these trolls and naysayers and disruptors (especially the obsessive ones who show up on thread after thread with post after post) can have their negative energy directed at us actually be converts into positive, forward moving stimulus and visibility. And for me, well, that lemonaide don't taste so bad!!
We win both ways. If you treat them that way, they either leave (WIN), or they stay and keep the thread bumped to the top (WIN). We win-win, because they cannot offer anything substantial in terms of policy differences or scandal or anything that would damage Mr. Hunter, just their own handicapping of the race which anyone is free to do.
Remember the biblical quotes about loving enemies, and in so doing, bringing heaping hot coals down upon their heads.
It works!!!! LOL
You go right ahead and do things the way you see fit.
Bump...
Duncan Hunter can’t sell to you because apparently you want things all wrapped up in shiny paper. You ignore the message because the package isn’t pretty enough to suit you. Style over substance. Listen to the Message!!
I want someone with a real, solid message, who I can trust to do what he says. That is Duncan Hunter.
While you are explaining or explaining away, can you please explain what becomes of your theory when discussing such candidates as Fred Thompson and John McCain? How about Rudy and Ron Paul?
Do they have this magical delivery or will you admit you are grasping at straws? Could there perhaps be another explanation you are avoiding in order to feel good about casting your vote for someone other than the true conservative in this race? Thanks for your sympathies, but, no thanks. As I told a Romnyulan earlier, “Save your sympathies for Americans, they are going to need them”.
Thanks WS!
Duncan Hunter looking good in Nevada!
I’m now listening to a replay of Brien and the Judge, and a woman just called to support Duncan Hunter. Brien also seems to like Hunter.
btw, I called Brien and the Judge a couple of weeks ago about Duncan Hunter.
If anyone wishes to call them, the show is on M-F, 9 to Noon, ET.
Well, if all you are after is a used-car-salesman-in-chief, might I direct you to the Romney camp?
Here's another option:

I knew when I made that post yesterday the the Hunterites would attack me. You guys aren’t getting the point. Duncan Hunter has sold ME without “wrapping it up in shiny paper.” But most of the electorate is not like ME, YOU or the Free Republic crowd. It does take shiny paper to win elections. Ronald Reagan knew how to wrap a message in shiny paper. Yes, you can get a bad moderate candidate and wrap him up and sell him and end up with a bad president. I don’t deny that. But you can’t sell unwrapped goods to the American people even if they are a good thing.
“Would you support Hunter as the GOP nominee, lets say, if there was a ...”
I would support Duncan Hunter if he was the GOP nominee against any independent or Democrat. I think he’s a great guy, but I think the day after the election I’d would feel like 1996 again.
The current results from NV shows Romney blowing them away and Paul apparently coming in 2nd.
votes Romney 21724 McCain 5417 Paul 5374 Huckabee 3295 Thompson 3314 Guiliani 1796 Hunter 825 Total 41745 http://www.nvgopcaucus.com/results
Unplug works great!! Thanks a lot. Too bad he dropped out this weekend, I could have convinced several people to see the light with this....
