More with LachlanMinnesota on your two's view on the United States' role in the world.

The USA doesn't need to be a global hegemony. If there was some way that a huge, 'magical' shield capable of warding off an attack by the rest of the world combined could be raised along all borders of the country (including and tying in Hawaii and Alaska), then the United States could pull out of the overseas bases and take up a more isolationist world view.

Be safe and having Americans with a decent quality of life trumps being the global 'big boy.'

At first glance, some of that statement could seem socialist. However, government being used to stimulate the economy (as through tax cuts and building more roads) or lobbying American business’s case in trade disagreements with other countries are not socialist. And governments which are more intent on being number one in terms of power rather than taking a more humble and pragmatic approach in the interest of those who voted them into power are bad.

Cessna will be building the next generation of two place light planes in China. For 70,000 less each.

Rudy doesn’t realize that running New York city is just well running New York city. I noticed Rudy didn’t order any of New York’s air force to defend when attacked.

When is Rudy going to drop out? He has what, 2 delegates so far. Looks cooked to me. Florida hates New Yorkers, they only tolerate them when they have money to spend.

Longterm Cessna will only end up serving their own head on a platter to the Chinese.

Cessna is currently selling the 172 mostly designed in 1947. With products designed over sixty years ago in their current catalog they have not shown the speed of innovation necessary to stay ahead of the Chinese rip-off artists. Once the even cheaper Chinese improved copy is selling against Cessna's name branded aircraft what will Cessna claim? "Our older design is more proven!" "New Technology sucks!" "The Chinamen who build ours are better than the Chinamen building theirs!" "Buy American!"

Cessna took their wiring to Mexico. They must have learned something if they're taking the rest of the plane elsewhere. The real answer is that they need to design a plane for automated construction and build it in their existing facilities without all the stoners currently goldbricking on their assembly lines.

I-4 coridor pandering because that is all areospace firms.

Huckabee is pushing the enormous I-4 coridor crop of evangelical churches. Really insane how many end up there.

Actually it was 2004. And if the Russians get to Mars first, then the States deserve what they get. There is a plan to lessen the gap from 6 years to 2. But the bone-headed guy in charge of NASA is SHAFTING the future. (That was a double entendre.)

IF he'd send Hillary and Pelosi, Murtha and Reid, (one-way, of course) and have them drop off Uncle Ted on Mars, I might even vote for him over FRed! /sarc>

Cheers!

Rudy is saying anything to get the Florida vote.

Are the Republicans only allowing 1/2 of Florida delegates???

This front loaded open primary crap is the RNC hacks buggering the party base.

Why don't the Republicans just refuse to seat any delegates from open primary states???

NASA is ALREADY planning a moon mission...a mapping satellite was recently sent up to determine the best landing site.

Rudy...thanks for announcing plans to do what we are ALREADY doing.

.

About a year ago I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Astronaut JOHN YOUNG, American Moonwalker and Commander of Space Shuttle COLUMBIA’s 1st launch into Space.

When I shared with him just how much I’ve been publically supporting America’s plan to go to the Planet Mars in 2025, he lamented at how this new Democrat Congress was busy quietly cutting this plan’s funding behind the scenes.

Making it impossible for Astronaut JOHN YOUNG to witness it’s happening during his lifetime.

Again, vote next time like your very future depends on it.

‘Cause it does.

For who knows better than Astronaut JOHN YOUNG..?

I agree with you. Space exploration is another senseless government program. Yeah, it might give us Americans bragging rights against Russians and the Chinese; but does it make our society wealthier or more just? No. Just an excuse for more government spending.

Young used to attend the Astronaut Corps’ morning meetings. Long after his last flight. But then NASA administration (as they are wont to do) decided that he wasn’t good for the program. He doesn’t attend those meetings anymore. It’s not a coincidence that NASA has gone downhill since about the same time. It’s time for a new direction.
