“Dana is a good man and a strong conservative. He has been in congress for a good while and probably knows the candidates pretty good. I bet like Delay he has a lot of disdain for McQueeg.”

He’s my congressman. Big money donations originate in our county. Several billionaires and their corporate executives, mostly Republican sources.

Their money has been on McCain and Romney, from the start. Dana is simply now picking from two safe choices, as far as staying in good graces with those who fund his campaigns, too.

I expect the GOP ticket will be McCain/Romney, and that it stands a reasonable chance of defeating an inexperienced weak democrat ticket of Clinton/whoever.

“Chunga, good point. I think Mitt picks up some steam, and even though cameron said a few minutes ago that “fred didn’t have enough votes in florida to make any difference”, I think it will.
I picked Romney in 2006 for his position on amnesty, while Huck was still setting up the mexican consulate and trying to get free college for illegals.

That’s right, free tuition.

This is a good endorsement. I like Dana. He’s an immigration hawk and a good conservative. As the prospect of a McCain candidacy grows, everyone with an ounce of conservatism in them will go for Romney.

There is an organized effort to make a Romney/Thompson ticket a reality. Mitt and Fred 2008.

I'll be posting this later. It deserves its own thread but, right now a full thread wouldn't be appropriate. I'm excited about this but, tonight would be better. FYI.

Mitt has been the only viable candidate to beat the dumbocrats since day one.

We must be neighbors so to speak. My daughter worked in Dana’s Huntington Beach office while she was going to UCI. From what she told me you can count on him being a conservative.

Sad. So dies the Reagan revolution.

It doesn't need to be that way. I'm hopefully looking ahead to another Hunter run. With a little luck people won't be so sidetracked with mythical electability in the future.

I think a consensus will continue to evolve for Romney now that the field has narrowed. Health care is going to be an issue, as is the economy. I don't know much about Romney's health care plan in MA, but it has to be better than what the Dems will propose. The important thing is that Mitt will at least be able to speak to the issue based on experience. Also, Mitt is smart enough to handle the campaign and build an organization.

I expect the GOP ticket will be McCain/Romney

The chance of Romney agreeing to play second fiddle to McCain is precisely zero.

What Romney did with health care in MA was as “conservative” as the legislators and voters would tolerate.

I guess you’d rather a Democrat in the White House?

MYTH Romney and John McInsane might as well be Democrats.

It takes cojones to stand up and say "My vote is for Conservatives only"

Do you not understand that Socialized medicine, an assault weapons ban, gay marriage and tax hikes are coming now whether or not the GOP wins?

I will not be stabbed in the back again.

That’s why the libs have been ayyacking him every chance they get. Time for conservatives to wise up who have suspicions about Mitt and get behind him. If he can hold the mountain west and mid-west, keep the south and pull competitive states in the east and northwest (are you aware of how many Mormons live in Oregon and Washington? Oregon has a Mormon US senator — and this means organizational ability) then Mitt is president.

For every bigot who would refuse to vote for a Mormon there’s two who won’t vote for Obama just because he’s black and three who won’t vote for Hillary because she’s a woman. Sowhen it’s all added together these folk will cancel each other out and the rest of America will vote for the most qualified leader — Mitt Romney!

So, I guess that's good (for Romney), right?

In the current political climate, I think it's extremely important for the Republican candidate have the credibility to talk about health care. Romney is the only one that I know of that fits the bill, considering the importance of the issue. Just saying "no" is not going to cut it. Could be wrong, but that's my take.

Yippee! That has been my wish all along. Romney/Thompson 08! Go GOP, GO!!! I think it’s the best-qualified team going. Romney was a Brooks Scholar at Harvard for his Masters and J.D. (top 5 percent of his class). In business with Bibi Netenyahu and has the ability to understand a PL Statement. Fred is the man to navigate the waters rising up to the noses of Congress. He’s as smart as can be. Yup! I’m happy. Please, Fred, don’t leave us behind. Take care of your Mom and come back to us. You’re also a good son.

Another outstanding endorsement! It is time to get behind Mitt and defeat Rudy, McCain and Huckabee!
