Wonder what Monica is thinking today?

In an inteview with the Daily Mail after Clinton’s autobiography My Life appeared in 2004, Lewinsky said this...

“He could have made it right with the book, but he hasn’t. He is a revisionist of history. He has lied. (...) I really didn’t expect him to go into detail about our relationship (...) But if he had and he’d done it honestly, I wouldn’t have minded.... I did, though, at least expect him to correct the false statements he made when he was trying to protect the Presidency. Instead, he talked about it as though I had laid it all out there for the taking. I was the buffet and he just couldn’t resist the dessert. (...) That’s not how it was. This was a mutual relationship, mutual on all levels, right from the way it started and all the way through. ... I don’t accept that he had to completely desecrate my character.”

Someone, can’t recall who, said Bill’s helping Hillary become president is a form of alimony.

I heard Charles Krauthammer first say it.It's a great remark, and true.

Wow. Ten years since Bubba waved his appendage around, banged it on the lectern, and made that speech. How time flies.

I wonder what Bill's giving Hillary to mark the occasion

Look for a Chinatown-style contribution to the cause, say a briefcase the size of Vince Foster's, stuffed with crisp stacks of 100 notes--no more ripped-up notes. You didn't think Bill's roll of pennies was going to satisfy her wide-ranging female desires, did you?!

As a 10 year "birthday" gift... let's get a refresher (mature content): Dave Chappelle (Clinton #2)

Reading Lewinsky’s remarks actually made me feel sorry for her for the first time. Thanks for the eye-opener.

I have never understood how Bill Clinton parsed that phrase to make it anythimg other than a lie in his own mind.

I felt sorry for her at the time. She was way out of her league, playing with a master of manipulation and deceit. She was looking for a committment and he wanted not so much her but the thrill of a dangerous bit on the side. She was young and extremely foolish, no excuses for that; BUT he was supposedly an adult, the Leader of the Free World. In reality he was a low-life thrill seeking predator.

Watch the video of her being hugged by him after he won reelection in Nov 1996. She is dressed similarly to him amid a sea of white t-shirt wearing supporters and if you notice she turns to be by his side, looking at him as an adoring wife would do. She was imagining how it would be to be his wife. I have a feeling they had an interesting discussion about the event before it happened. I love you baby, it’ll be us and our secret. Thrilling for each of them in totally different ways.

Clinton at McDonald's, from SNL, 1992:

Bill Clinton: Jim, let me tell you something - there's gonna be a lot of things we don't tell Mrs. Clinton about. Fast food is the least of our worries.

Oh, incidentally, the Senate trial was going on this time nine years ago and Bubba was acquitted, ironically enough, on Lincoln’s birthday. Moveon.org, you might recall, was founded in 1998 on the premise that we should sanction Bubba short of impeachment and removal and just move on. I note that although the reason for their existence is long gone, they’re still here. So I wonder, not for the first time...what more can you say about an organization whose very name is a lie?
