Outback Steakhouse came to our Base today and fed 1,000 folks from several branches of the Military a GREAT meal today. It was all donated and Outback Steakhouse employees cooked and served. It was such a wonderful treat, I just had to publicly thank them.
We had steak and baked potatoes, green beans, pasta, bread, salad and either cheesecake or a chocolate brownie.
Can't tell you much we appreciated this gesture for us military folks here at home!
*high five to Outback steakhouse*
PLEAS = PLEASE
Based on what I heard from him during the debates about how he would handle Iran, he has no clue. He lacks even the faintest idea of how to employ the military component of the elements of national power to achieve military and political objectives. Just like most aspects of Romney's campaign, he is a fake, and in the case of being the CINC, folks will die needlessly. U.S. Army Retired |
Ah Kinchloe, how long ago did that one close? And Wurtsmith and K I Sawyer are gone now too.
Gotcha!! Agreed. U.S. Army Retired |
Hmmm...it has been awhile since I’ve been ‘Outback’...all the more reason to go. Very cool!
Monroe is very nice, but I was wondering where in Spain? My Uncle was stationed at Zaragosa. Just curious.
You forgot Captain McQueeg!
You can get some great Spanish soap there and it’s pretty, I’m using the last of my case...durn it.
Just starting a week of active duty at Peterson (Air Force Space Command) myself - upside of being attached in Colorado Springs is even when I’m doing 2 weeks, the altitude’s so high that they give you 3 weeks to get used to it before making you do a PT test! So I just do it with my old unit, the 340th at Randolph back home. Of course, I usually wait till it’s nice and hot...
Colonel, USAFR
Ah gotcha, misread your post. We are in Moron. The base in Zaragosa was closed a few years back, or so I’m told.
Outback go overseas and do that for the military too
They also have $20 fund raisers here in the states...
For $20 you get a great steak etc the whole works
When one of our local boys got killed Outback help us raise money for his wife and family...
They were wonderful and the staff volunteered their time and were sweet...
It’s my Honor to serve, along with 4 brothers and my father.
Back when Christ was a corporal I think.........:o)
Mid to late 70’s it was placed in caretaker status I think. I was there in 72/73 when we had cocked and locked BUFF’s , FB111’s and KC’s on alert. I am EOD , my little bro is a USAF PJ . I retired after 26 and he retired at the 24 year mark.
You Stay Safe !
Went to a Conference there last February, by the middle of the week I was as sick as a dog, in bed with a horrible headache. I recovered quickly and had a wonderful time the day the conference ended. Got to check out the AF Academy and some of the scenery.
Absolutely beautiful.
LOL!! Hubby was at K I Sawyer in 79, similar activities. He was hydraulic repair on the BUFF and KC-135. I’ve got 27 years myself and have been through 4-5 aircraft conversions starting with the F-4 and going to the A-10 soon. Never a dull moment.
Figures. Some of our folks have transited through Moron on their way to other less inviting locales.
It’s incredibly hard to keep base morale up when everybody that comes through here is headed to the big sandbox. You would be amazed at some of the crap we put up with here.
Good on ya !
Enjoy it while ya can..........civilian life is less than desirable (lifer talk I know). Professionalism has been overtaken by profiteering outside the wire........ If yer ever passing thru the Panhandle of Texas give a shout and we’ll treat ya too a steak at the Big Texan !
You two stay safe !
