They're pretty darned good at playing the other side of tat coin as well:
Victimization is an Islamic disease. Islam, irrespective of sects, either victimizes the people it can, or plays victim to the real or imagined oppressors.
Every time you see the headline: Muslims enraged by _______. (insert outrage of the day), they're acting the victim of some slight or another. Religion of Peace? No, Religion of Perpetual Outrage.

We Iranians don’t have a dog in this fight. In fact we should rid ourselves of all Islamic stains, Shia, Sunni, or whatever, and with it stop playing victims of one power or another. Playing victim may give psychological relief but doesn’t solve any problems on the ground. And problems of the ground we have aplenty.

Again, give it up my countrymen. Enough playing victim: victims of the Jews, our perennial excuse that we have been using to victimize them whenever we can; victims of America; victims of the Crusaders. We are victims alright: victims of Islam that invaded our land and implanted a raft of pathological ideas in our heads.

It's a start.

Worth repeating:

"We are victims alright: victims of Islam that invaded our land and implanted a raft of pathological ideas in our heads.
Victimization is an Islamic disease. Islam, irrespective of sects, either victimizes the people it can, or plays victim to the real or imagined oppressors. This victimization mentality is at the root of Muslim’s backwardness and primitiveness.

This is a picture of one of the ballots in the referendum vote held in Iran in 1979, on whether or not to turn the country into an Islamic republic. Of course, it was one of those Saddam-style elections where 99% vote 'yes' and the remaining 1% mysteriously disappear. This is one of the few 'no' votes:

The word at the bottom reads "NAH" which means no.

My wife (who lived there and speaks Farsi) confirms this.

Does anyone know the history of the Iranian flag’s design change? I know it was the lion and the sword before the Islamic Republic, but what’s up with the weird design thing on the current Iranian flag, and why did they change it?

The shape of the symbol is supposed to be a red tulip, representing the blood of the martyrs. It’s a monogram of the word Allah & of the phrase lah ilaha illa Allah. There is no God but Allah.

In the borders it says Allahu Akbar (God is the greatest) 11 times on each line, 22 in total. The Islaamic revolution was on the 22nd day of Bahman, the 11th month.

By the way, no = lah in Arabic.

I wondered about that, it looked vaguely like Allah. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, but in Farsi it looks like nah. That looks like an N connected to the alif and the haa, not a laam alif as in lah.

I never noticed the stuff on the borders was text....I thought it was just some design or something. The font is so block-like I never picked up on that!

Speaking of flags, any idea if the “Allah akbar” script that Saddam added to pander to the Muslims will be removed from the Iraqi flag anytime soon?

*slaps forehead* That's what I get for not reading. I thought it said Iraqi for some reason & didn't even read the paper. Sorry about that.

Yeah, they changed it just recently, I think. They replaced his handwritten takbir with one written in the Kufic script. It's the oldest Arabic script, from the city of Kufah, & the Iraqis take lots of pride in it.
