Republican Debate the other night - YouTube
Rudy Guiliani: We should develop a tamper proof ID card"
"and if you got the tamper proof ID card, then you'd be allowed to work, pay taxes, get online, become a citizen, follow the rules...."
There is no such thing as a tamper proof ID.
New Yorkers often use "on line" when everyone else in the US would use "in line". Unless he was specifically talking about computers he might just be letting his dialect show through.
“Online” is what New Yorkers say when they mean “in line.”
You folks need to get out more!
If your post had been sarcasm it would have been really funny, not being sarcasm just makes it sad.
You would appear to be in dire need of a dose of laxative.
Then he's an idiot for misunderstanding one of the most ubiquitous phrases in the American lexicon.
I don't see this as anything BUT a reference to requiring identification for each computer user, authenticated by some big government database somewhere - and gathering metrics to be used against you whenever they see fit.
No thanks.
I’m not saying this tamper proof ID card would me the “Mark”, but it is a step in that direction and we all should be concerned that some candidates are using it as a campaign pledge.
Just in case there is any doubt that Rudy is nothing but a totalitarian impulse in waiting.
LOL! Wow. Quite the rant you have going there for Rudy the totalitarian in waiting.
That is pretty cool, but Rudy wouldn’t let you have that! I make have to get one of those for my wife.
I want one!
I was wrong!
Pure BS. This man was appointed by Reagan to be AG. If Reagan ran today you would probably dismiss him too as too liberal and pandering to Californians. You people have given the presidency to the Democrats. That’s a fact and your holier than thou attitude is just a smug denial of the fact that Ameirica after 30 years of illegal immigration, feminism and gay rights would ever elect the politician that you support. Face it. You have lost the country and I weep.
I assume you meant that "what follows is pure BS".
This man was appointed by Reagan to be AG.
He also appointed Sandra Day O'Connor and Anthony Kennedy. Everyone makes mistakes.
If Reagan ran today you would probably dismiss him too as too liberal and pandering to Californians.
Reagan had a positive message of opportunity for America and expanding freedom. Giuiliani has no such message. In fact, his message seems to be more about curtailing freedom.
Thats a fact and your holier than thou attitude is just a smug denial of the fact that Ameirica after 30 years of illegal immigration, feminism and gay rights would ever elect the politician that you support. Face it.
Since I've been of voting age, my Republican choices have been: Reagan, Bush, Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush. Don't tell me that I haven't been willing to compromize.
No more. Face it.
Mark of the Beast. Your choice for “validation”—hand or forehead?
Well, that idea for an I.D. card for many different kinds of citizen-services and/or getting online is a bunch of baloney — because our country has allowed (since the beginning) anonymous political comment as part of our freedoms. It is not necessary to “identify yourself” in order to make citizen comments in a public forum or place. It’s been tried before and has gone to court, with some place demanding people to be “I.D.-ed” before they could make certain political comments in an open and public square type of situation.
Let’s not go down that road.... (although it does look like the Bible says that something is going to be taking place like that during the Tribulation years). I just don’t want to see it in place any sooner than that... LOL...
