“Get a grip! Romney can’t win! He’d be blown away by Hillary...he’s making a dopey concession speech right now—100,000 troop increase in the armed forces (but, of course, none of his sons will be among them) and where does he think he’s going to get the money for almost a full Army division? China?”

Good point about the new division. However, it also shows his ignorance about how the Army has reorganized in the last few years. Divisions don’t really exist anymore, per se, except of paper. Division staffs act as command and control (C2) for 2 or more Brigade Combat Teams (BCTs). On paper a division has about 3 to 4 BCTs assigned to it, but the divison HQ only acts as as C2 for its BCTs when stateside. All BCTs are modular now. The idea being that they can grab 2 to 3 BCTs of various types to produce a tailor made AD HOC division and assign some Division (any) HQ to serve as C2. You could see a BCT from the 101 (Air Assault) combined with one from 1rst Armour (Mech/Armour Heavy) and one from 10th Mountain (light infantry) combined together and placed under the C2 of HQ 1st Cav Division. So, units deploy as BCTs now, not divisions. They only maintain Divisional alignment for heraldic reasons and somewhat to define the main purpose for the BCT. BTW - A BCT is self sufficient and has its own organic artillery and support units. A BCT is pretty much what an old Separate Brigade was before, except it has a Colonel in command instead of the Brigadier that commanded a separate brigade.

As i said earlier, if McCain’s the candidate, we lose in landslide.
You’ll see the mainstream media switch sides in a heartbeat to the Dark Side, and it’ll all be over.

McCain’s ALWAYS been suckered by the attention given to him by the press - undoubtedly because of his massive ego (second, perhaps, only to Teddy Kennedy and Smilin’ Joe Biden - well, and of course, Bill Clinton...).

And I have yet to read anything from anyone here who supports McCain explaining WHY you support him.

“Obama can only win in states with large black populations
Like Iowa, you mean.

Cheers!”

Actually, I should have said large black populations and academics of any stripe. You know, the liberal intellectuals. The Eugene McCarthy types. There, did I make it better?

My father wasn't yet born when Coolidge was a candidate.

Meanwhile, I must excuse myself for a moment. I'd love to answer all of your important questions, but not until we've all had a chance to digest this critical new transmittal:

Local talk radio (Schnitt show) was encouraging Democrats not to vote for a candidate since they were snubbed by the DNC and some callers did say they left the vote for the Democratic nominee blank so it’s somewhat possible.

Lots of liberals in the independent category too! They are the ones getting blamed for McCain’s momentum, as a matter of fact!

The pisser is that Huck will stay in to draw votes away from Romney, even though he doesn’t have a prayer.

Let’s face it, despite his looks and his resources, Moneybags Mitt has been a dud as a candidate. He should have gotten really aggressive against McCain right after New Hampshire. Shoulda, woulda, coulda...

As of 10:43 PM there are 29 counties that are not showing voting results. That’s alot of counties missing to be calling an election, but that’s my ignorant opinion.

There are some good conservative repubs and that can’t be said for the dem party.

Do what you have to do. As for me, I’ll still vote republican and hope they don’t screw us over any more than they do. And I know the dems will screw us over.

It would be nice, and probably profitable, if there were a true conservative party that could win an election. I’m just afraid that by that time we’d have one, so much damage to fix, it wouldn’t be fixable anymore. As for me and mine, I’ll keep up on my target practice even though in these parts, owning a gun is considered criminal.

Well this is essentially over and I don’t even get to cast a vote till March. Nebraska doesn’t vote till May. The system is broken.

I was never a McCain supporter. But I will support whomever gets the nomination and fight hard to keep Billary from re-entering the White House. That’s the big picture.

No, here is the big picture. McCain is toast, hillary will cream McCain. Our military is fighting for nothing now. This country does not deserve their protection. GO FRIGGEN ENLIST AND FIGHT FOR MCCAIN”S AND HILLARY”S IDEAS.
