Like so many immigration issues, the correct answer is: “some are (here for 150 years), some aren’t” The ones who have been here for 150 (or close to 250) were from mexico, but had come from Spain 100-200 years before that. If you mean that they were more likely to be of “European Blood” rather than Mixtex/Aztec/Mayan ancestry proportionately today, you are right in direction, but even by 1770 or 1850 there was plenty of mixing in Mexico. Remeber that the whole string of names up the california coast— san diego, san clemente, los angeles, santa barbara, san jose, santa clara, san francisco, are just the names of the Missions set up c. 1770-1800, when it was still politically Spain (or “Nuevo Espana”) but ethnically, long mexican

Don’t worry about Mitt. He’ll just go start a new General Motors or something. He has a wonderful family and with such IQ he will be successful at anything he chooses. Maybe he will have to save another Olympics, who knows.

Jealousy can be a terrible thing. You are correct. Romney is married to his first wife, and has a devoted and loving family. Romney’s accomplishments in his scholastic life and professional career are monumental.

It’s easy to trust Romney. He’s been in public office for 4 years, he’s a solid family man who has a great family which speaks well to his character, he is NOT proven to be a liar in spite of how hard everybody tries.

He’s a decent, honorable man who serves his family, his faith, and those around him well. He was trustworthy in business, trustworthy enough to be given charge of the olympics and to make them work with honor.

I’m sick of this personal attack stuff. Attack his positions, attack his previous positions, complain that he changed his positions, but it’s just too easy to call the entire world liars.

Keating 5 was a long time ago and also included John Glenn(D). There’s far more recent shenannagins on the Clinton side to be publicized (again).

it is all about kicking out the christians and all about kicking out the conservatives.

The country club wants the poor rabble in the democrats and the rich country club (old money) in the republicans.

The percent difference could change, but not the outcome.

5. McCain isn’t a Clinton.

He's worse.

Clinton would actually strengthen the party.

McCain is guaranteed to destroy the party!

Sadly, I think you are right. I heard you menttion earlier that this may be your last hurrah....I felt the same way reading your post. I am retired also. If McCane gets the nod, I will tune out. The country has become so ignorant and dumbed down, we won’t last very long.

McCain won’t beat the rats in any case. Romney remains our last chance to do that.

But just think...if, between now and Nov there is a terrorist incident, Hillary will be toast because she will not have a clue how to respond..McCain being the military man will go to great lengths to explain what he would do as POTUS...

Since Bin Laden wants to see the Dems win, i am guessing that he has put the word out: no incidents until after the election...

most states. There's also a lot more veterans, less evangelicals, and of course a lot more RINO Republican elected officials who endorse other RINOs like McCain.

I believe Romney will do better Super Tuesday. We can fight at least until then!

The Spanish speaking people who were here for a time came from Spain not Mexico.

Correct -- I am descended from a few of them - all from Spain - to and including the royals and the catalonian volunteers who helped found the missions. :)

Forgot the first part!

There's a lot more moderate RINOs in Florida than in most states. There's also a lot more veterans, less evangelicals, and of course a lot more RINO Republican elected officials who endorse other RINOs like McCain. I believe Romney will do better Super Tuesday. We can at least fight until then!

The Mittwitts here don't understand that it is going to take a candidate that can appeal to some of those Democrats and especially to Independents to win in November.

Considering that the Democrats' best strategy if McCain wins the nod would be to let him win the presidency and then form an alliance with him, he might be more able to win than Romney. But I don't think that would be a plus.

You are not alone. For all of his faults, he took some extremely difficult stances.

How long will it be before another president questions the relevancy of the U.N. in front of the entire world?

And he doesn’t let polls do his thinking, whether or not I agree with him.

actually it is now about exposing romney the same way we exposed Giuliani and how we exposed Huckster.

We have to talk OUTSIDE of FR.
