I’m siding with Smokey. A shot between the eyes at 4’ with a more powerful weapon woulda got blood all over his pajamas........Nobody wants to go back to bed under those circumstances.

Steady to be 79! Tip of the hat!

Sure but we silly pilots were given a crappy 9mm and taught to shoot center-of-mass because of lack of penetration.
With a .22, I would think his training would have taught him center-of-mass, many shots, too.
(Not that I can say I would do any better under stress, either, but hey, I can comfortably second guess here looking out the window at skiers while sipping coffee.)

You’ll get no props going for the easy answer, FRiend!

Taylor definitely should get extra credit for a round right between the eyes. I have a great Ruger 22 Mark II, and I guarantee that I’ll hit what I shoot at.

Only A Green Beret could hunt a fish with a 22. A Marine would use a 50 Cal.

Nice job Smokey! You've still got what it takes!
James T Smokey Taylor, D-529, of Knoxville, TN and an original member of Chapter 33, has been nominated by the American Legion, Post #2, Knoxville, Tennessee, to serve as Grand Chef De Gare du Tennessee. This is an honor Smokey richly deserves.

All my carry pistols are in a caliber that starts with 4 and end in 5I know what you mean. So what leather do you have for your .475 Linebaugh?

Charges were brought against him under the premise that he should have saved the county and taxpayers the expense of a trial, hehehe. Thanks for the ping!
