“this blather is as audacious as it is nearsighted.”

-

Not it’s not.

All of it is true. I’m watching our own company (I won’t mention the name, but it’s a biggie) sending jobs offshore as fast as they can find and hire. Layoffs all over. I’m surrounded by empty cubicles.

All those empty cubicles, are people who lost a good job, who won’t be down at the shopping center this weekend, because they’re looking for a new job, and trying to save money.

Most won’t find a new job, anywhere as good. Those good jobs, are the ones being lost.

America is losing our future. Our jobs. Our knowhow. Our industries. Our ability to do, to make, and to innovate.

And far too many people (even here on FR) think that’s a GOOD THING?

blah de blah blah. how many times in the past 20 years has mot been below 20 bucks?

your company's laying off 'cause it can hire someone in Mumbai to do your job for half your salary. That's cost cutting.

True — and yet — if you go to some mid-priced restaurants this weekend, the customers will be lined up out the door.

I just don’t understand this economy, and if the two folks I think are going to be the Republican and Democrat nominees for POTUS, I don’t understand my country, either.

These companies made bad investment decisions. What is your proposal? Outside of the Government nationalizing them and propping them up to keep people employed this is the way Capitalism works. Things are ever changing and evolving.

I think the upside is that those snivelinng American workers get put out of a job. Seems to be something to be applauded, for some reason.

There’s more. More high tech machining jobs are moving to Mexico, where they don’t have unions, environmental regulations or trial attorneys. BUT, the big difference is that the feds have allowed certain inspection processes to be conducted in Mexico, which will move even more work there.

Why is investment leaving the US? Taxes? Regulations? Lawsuits? All are foundations of the Democrats’ fundraising and legislation activities.
