ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski is endorsing Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.

Murkowski says the former Massachusetts governor is a proven leader that Alaskans and other Americans need in the White House in a time of economic uncertainty.

Murkowski is announcing her endorsement just days before Super Tuesday, when primaries will be held in numerous states and caucuses will be held other states, including Alaska.

The Alaska Republican says she welcomes Romney's promise to work toward the nation's energy independence and his support of opening up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling.

I’m for Romney but the problem is, everytime someone endorses him I gotta ask, “WHO??” He’s certainly not getting as many big, easily recognisable names that McCain seems to be attracting.

Say what you will about McCain’s endorsements being from RINOs, it’s shown it makes a different to the general public who are pretty much ignorant of politics. Look what happened in Florida and Crist’s endorsement at the 11th hour.

Having said that, I’m glad most talk radio are for Mitt.

This endorsement may not help much nationally, but it should help boost him some in Alaska.

What's that old saying? 'All politics are local.'

It's about time...good for her. McLame wants no drilling in ANWR.

If anyone doesn’t think the calling isn’t important between now and Tuesday, read this exchange:

I have been calling for Romney all day. It’s amazing that there are still so many that are undecided between Mitt and McCain. Most of my undecideds said they would look at Romney again. One person from Teller County Colorado was telling me that she had no idea as to where to go on Tuesday, and no one she knew did either. What is going on out there? She wants input into the upcoming election, but nothing was sent to the voters in her area. This is unreal.

To All:

We have three days to stop McCain and if you want to help us you don’t even have to leave your house.

The calls you make that connect you to voters could put Mitt over the top, they could mean the difference in determining our next president. Please join us during all or some of the times we have set aside by emailing “I want to win” to CallatHome@MittRomney.com.

Pass this info on to as many people as possible.

McCain must be stopped! bttt

She won’t support McCain, who opposes drilling in ANWR.

Earlier the Federalist founder endorsed McCain. But doesn’t he realise that the first rule of Federalism is that the federal government NOT interfere in affairs of the state.

So why does McCain get any support from federalists when he opposes Alaska making it’s own decisions about drilling for oil in it’s own borders?
