McCain's phone call to voters today, three days before the California Primary
McCain ^ | 2-2-08 | McCain

Posted on 02/02/2008 9:20:45 PM PST by doug from upland

Here is the message I heard this afternoon.

Hi, this is Senator John McCain. I'm calling today to personally ask for your vote and make a pledge to you. As your president, I promise to lead our nation and our party as a Ronald Reagan conservative. I'll lower your taxes, veto wasteful government spending, and ensure our party returns to the smaller government principles on which it began.

I'll secure our border first before pursuing any other immigration reform. I'll appoint conservative judges like justices Alito and Roberts. I will protect the sanctity of life; I have a 24-year record to prove it.

This is my commitment to you. As you go to the polls, consider our greatest challenge as a nation is to defeat a relentless enemy - the radical Islamist extremists. My life experiences prepared me better than any other candidate to defeat this enemy. We can and will win this war.

Again, this is John McCain and I humbly ask you to vote for me.

I will walk on coals to try to keep Hillary out of the White House.

I am really torn about this issue, I just can’t believe that America wants this kind of people to lead our great Nation.

I hope people hold McCain to what he said in these phone calls.

I, too, got one today. There is nothing more personal than invading one's privacy with promises, and then reneging on them later. It's not the same thing as going to a public rally and hearing a stump speech.

If McCain does become President, and then fails to deliver on the things he called people at home and promised them that he'd do, I hope there is some way to shame him for what he did in a way that would matter.

I hope we don’t have to make the choice. It has to be made clear to him what we expect if he is the nomine. I would want him to execute an agreement with us and agree to resign if he violates one of the provisions of the agreement. Again, we will be able to have some influence to pressure him. If we try to pressure Hillary, she would not hesitate to audit us or have us imprisoned. Or whacked.

I still think that McCain won't survive a term in office with his cancer. I expect his face to slide off the side of his head. He'd have to pick an exceptional choice for VP.

I am a well-documented Missouri FredHead.

I’ll be voting for Romney on Tuesday. At this point, a Romney victory would stick it in the eye of the MSM...which is attempting to put an end to the conservative movement.

I will not vote for John McCain. Not on a ANY Tuesday, February or November.

‘I will vote for the Republican.
I learned my lesson with Ross Perot.’

Good for you. Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it. How could anyone do anything that might put a Clinton back in the White House? All this rhetoric against McCain should be translated into rhetoric against her (and him!)

Did I say “Hunky Dory”, did I mention STEM CELLS; I merely gave you the tally of Ginzberg’s vote to show you Republican comity (or ass kissing)in the Senate when it comes down to a democratic president’s Supreme Court nomination. Like shit through a goose, eh.

If McCain and his pal Juan Hernandez really want to do something bold about immigration, he can take up my idea for solving the "undocumented" alien problem by putting a program in place to document these people with Mexican drivers licenses.

Who says they have to get American licenses? We have the technology, why can we accept legal Mexican documentation and issue illegal aliens Mexican drivers licenses? Then, we can accept these documents when driving or flying or opening bank accounts, but not for social security or residency or government benefits.

If lack of documentation is a problem, then let McCain put a plan in place to give these people the home documentation that they are lacking. Who could be against something like that?

You said of McCain,

He is far more conservative than the other two in the race

You are missing the point entirely. McCain will never win the presidency, but if he gets the Republican nomination it tells the world that there is no price to pay for pushing amnesty. Even if you think Mitt will be beaten in the actual race you should still try to deny him the Republican nomination. The only one that can stop McCain is Romney.

If he is elected, he will grant amnesty, etc... he will literally wreck our economy, likely appoint Liberal judges, etc.

What makes you think that Hillary will not do those? With Obama, it's even worse: all of above plus practically invite Islamofacists to come in....

“I am really torn about this issue, I just can’t believe that America wants this kind of people to lead our great Nation.”

America has become a spoiled brat nation that has lost sight of, and the youth not being taught, it’s origin and purpose. Everybody wants what’s theirs, and slick politicians feed that greed to have power over the masses.

The mass media keeps feeding us garbage to keep us our little minds occupied with stupidity, while they also, in their narcicism, feel powerful over us. You’re supposed to “jump on the bandwagon” as McCain is declared “our” candidate. We overwhelmingly want McCain, you know? So tell us the polls, and it must be so.

McCain will probably choose that loser and fellow traitor. Lindsay Graham(sp?). They deserve each other.

Why not Chuck Hagel, McPain's Mini-Me?
