the funny thing is...this ‘stimulus’ won’t help the economy and it won’t increase the bureaucracy the dems want for patronage...so what’s the point? It doesn’t do anything for anybody

During the SOTU speech, my wife and I looked at each other is stunned silence as Bush proposed “investing” billions of dollars in a “Competitiveness” effort, by which the government would make grants for industries to “increase our competitiveness”. Is capitalism dead in the GOP? We are to seize taxpayer dollars out of the economy, trust lifetime government bureaucrats who never ran a successful business in the real world to then dole them out to whomever they in their infinite ignorance think are worthy of “investment” for the future economy? Why not just cut taxes to all businesses and let the “competitiveness” operate as it always has? What is wrong with Bush?

These unlicensed physicians are prescribing aspirin to counteract the poisons they routinely inject into our economy, while they prepare even bigger doses of arsenic.

Thought you were talking about Big Pharm for a while.

The whole global warming nonsense shows just how phony politicians are. They do not care about the facts, the truth. All they care about is sounding like they care for the little people, so us common folk will vote for them in the next election. Well screw them. We need a leader to stand up and say that man made global warming is pure crap. We need to start building new refineries, power plants, start drilling and exploring for oil.

Good information! Yet we still have to vote for a candidate that WILL NOT DO A GOD DAM thing. Lemmings flock to the alter of Obama like “American Idol” Politicians flock to the alter of Mcain to seek employment in his administration, Oldsters flock to Hillary to give her a chance, because the 8 years her husband had were not enough. The huckster and Mctrainwreck have a back door deal to squeeze Mitt out of the picture. I cannot think of a worse time to have the circus pull into town!

I did a double take when I saw the name of the author - Roy Innis?? The civil right guy writing a conservative piece on global warming?

What a pleasant surprise - also explains why you never hear of him anymore. The drive-by media must have blacklisted him since he veered to the right.
