John McCain is endorsed by the New York Times and there’s people on this forum who think that’s a good thing. I’m not joking when I say I’ll vote for Hillary or etc. if McCain gets the GOP nomination. If there is to be a Democrat in the White House I at least want it to be someone who calls themself a Democrat and not a RINO.

ahhh - am I missing something? I watched the video and it didn't seem to me that Neal thought the Code Pink actions were anything to pay much attention to - free speech and all that???

Where does free speech allow anyone to chain themselves to the entrance of anyone else's building and restrict anyone else's free movement - let alone Federal Property?

Anyone want to imagine what would have happened to anti-abortion protesters who did the same to the entrance of an abortion clinic?

They would have all been summarily arrested. Well, they would never have been allowed that close to the building in the first place.

Maybe we need to ask Neil what the difference would be if the protesters had been anti-abortion folk at an abortion clinic?

I'm surprised at you, Neil!

Does anyone have a list of Berkeley-based businesses? I'm out-of-state, so Berkeley Chamber's listing of local businesses doesn't really help me here.

The only company I know with national reach is Clif Bar. Any other major brands to avoid?

Thanks for the email to the mayor’s office - I just sent this:

“It’s time for you and your city to secede from the Union that you spit on.

Certainly, there are many of us true citizens and businesses that will ‘blockade’ your, what is now to us, foreign country.

May you reap the rewards you deserve from your traitorous actions.

May it be so.”

I sent it not because I think he’ll give a rat’s rump = but that it might add to the traffic on their site - know what I mean

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the interfering of a Federal employee doing their job was a Federal offence???

Recruiters are basically Federal employees. I did a little bit of recruiting (extra duty while in the service, and home on leave) and believed that was our status when on the clock...

Blocking a Federal employee from access to their office or facility from where they worked from was a no-no...

Of course this is Berkeley, California...And the law means nothing there...

I agree, lets pull the federal dollars away from the cess-pool and let them die on the vine...

Our Marines will be ok, if they need support, I can say we’ll find a way to do so...

Good idea. If someone has the list of business in Nazi Berkeley, California then I would like it so I could boycott the anti-American scum.

You can find them on google I believe

A long list of them were posted on a thread the other day, but it was pulled.

The list made the thread unmanageable

If you find some and want to post a link that would work.

UC Berkeley student Kyrolos El Giheny walked up to the front door and tried to go inside to talk to Lund about a possible Marine career. He was unable to get past the chained protesters.

"They told me, 'No business as usual today,' " El Giheny said. "It's kind of nutty. It's really an infringement on my rights."

Nah - it would only be an infringement if you were prevented from entering an abortion clinic. Then, the protesters would have been hauled away with EXTRA chains

Since when is it legal to restrict the movements of another citizen????

Why did it take 7 1/2 hours before the police made these miscreants unchain - and still not arrest them?

Why weren't each and everyone who physically pushed back at people trying to enter, guilty of assault?

Wanna bet what would happen to you or I were we to physically restrain the movements of other law abiding citizens?

I just did research on Clif Bar. Apparently they are leaving Berkeley this year due to the anti-business climate. Who knows if there are any businesses there with a national reach...

Yes it’s a conundrum.

It’s a time consuming process bringing our public servants to the place where they don’t enforce laws selectively

This really hits home with me- there are three Marines in my family (none active). Needless to say I signed the petition.

Now the mayor of Berkley is backpeddling like crazy. Too late scumbag, say goodbye to your federal money!
