Ooops. You are right - It was something like 35% wasn’t it. What about SC - Can’t remember and I’m not old enough to be having these Senior Moments.

Survey USA ^ | February 4, 2008
CA Conservatives Race to Romney, But Is That Enough To Leapfrog McCain on Primary Eve? 24 hours till votes are counted in the California Republican Primary, Mitt Romney has pulled close enough to John McCain that the contest should best be characterized as too-close-to-call, according to SurveyUSA's 12th pre-primary tracking poll. Among all likely Republican Primary voters, it's McCain 39%, Romney 36%, others in single digits. Compared to a SurveyUSA poll 1 week ago, conducted before Rudolph Giuliani withdrew from the contest, McCain is up 2, Romney is up 11. McCain had led by 12, now by 3, within...

There’s a difference between a conservative compromising to a moderate position to get something done vs a moderate who is more than happy to compromise his way to a liberal position.

Well, it means we can’t be complacent either. We can’t afford to indulge ourselves and vote Fred or Hunter. That will just take delegates away from Romney and give them to McAmnesty.

Time to get behind the least-bad of the RINOs left running.

Even if he wins (which I doubt), look for the party establishment hacks to do exactly what they did to Ronald Reagan in 1976— they will nominate McCain (Ford) anyway because it is his turn.

John McCain, as certain to win as the Patriots.

“Meanwhile, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul are in the single digits.”

Time to get out of the way and stop McCain!

And we owe Ahnold to phony conservative talk show host, Melanie Morgan!

Folks, this is a b.s. poll! Eywitness News?? How liberal can you get? Zogby earlier today or late yesterday has Romney up by SIX PTS!! Rasmussen? His poll has it tied.

Why is Eyewitness News’ poll more relevant than these other stalwarts?? Hmm?

Howard Fineman on Hardball right now said that McCain was preparing for a loss in California.

I don’t trust Fineman.

I actually was polled in the primary of the special congressional election when my Rep died last year. One of those Looooooong issues polls where they give you choices like "Which do you think is a more important issue for our community, global warming or more medicare?"

ENDORSEMENT:
National Writers Syndicate .com [NWS] Endorses Governor Mitt Romney
For President of the United States

AT NWS - ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS:

Candidate Romney’s actions in private and public life speak louder than Candidate McCain’s endless, 22 year, diatribe of words.

Senator McCain has had innumerable chances over the 22 years to support the Policies best for America and the American people while in the Federal Government. McCain has failed to do so.

Governor W. Mitt Romney Deserves his first chance to fix the Federal Government and the American’s needs in a very complex world.

It takes the Intelligent person with the rare ability of “Foresight”, in order to run a very successful business. Romney completed that significantly. Decisions about the future success of a venture, is rife with variable facts that must be correctly determined in advance of the actual outcome, in order to succeed.

Not only is this necessary in business and life, but most assuredly when it comes to actually being the President of the United States of America.

W. Mitt Romney has clearly exhibited the “must have” attribute of foresight. Therefore, Candidate Romney is the singular choice in this complex and very important 2008 Presidential Election, for the very future of America.[snip]

He didn’t break 40% in Florida.

Nope. And what concerns me is he won't get the majority (over 50%) in the WTA states. No one should get all the delegates unless they get the majority of votes IMO.

Why then are you making money for Chris Matthews and MSNBC? That’s a scumbag station, except for Scarborough who’s hangin’ tough for Romney even if he’s not endorsing him...

??? This is very positive for Romney. You should be following the trend (up 12 points in a week) rather than comparing it to other poll results.

Quoting Reagan is a little bit like quoting the Bible, he wrote so much you can find something to sound like anything.

Romney destroyed both Massachusetts and the Mass GOP.
Why not let him do that to the national party, too, like the DNC wants.

James Carville: "It's a feel-good story, this Romney thing. Romney is an ascendant guy."
