McCain Woes The Right, Makes Peace With Falwell March 28, 2008
"...He "reconfirmed" to Falwell that he would support a federal constitutional amendnment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman if a federal court were to strike down state constitutional bans on gay marriage..."
Link below.
Bout' time then to run for president so he needs to pander for votes? I guess when votes are going to be needed it becomes not un-Republican, but Republican to him.
Yet, he said that he did not think that homosexuality was a defect or a sin. I wonder if he told Falwell about that?
BTW, McCain should have known that the federal marriage amendment would keep a federal court from striking down constitutional bans on gay marriage.

Will McCain Woe the Right in 2008?
McCain is a disaster all around.
The only thing that would get me to consider voting for him in November is if our troops wanted him much more than any Democrat, which I assume is the case.
But is McCain 100% reliable on fighting terrorism? He seems awfully concerned with terrorists’ rights.
I dunno. I’m disgusted.

I hate when that happens! Sorry for double post.
Anybody who knows McCain’s record and what he says now knows that he’s a flip flopper.
BTW, Romney lobbied Congress to pass the federal marriage amendment in 2005, the one that McCain opposed but now is for.
I'd say he's woe-ing the right already.

HOW ????????????
Florida is going to have a constitutional marriage amendment in November.
it is confirmed.
This means FL, the electoral rich vote will have a heavy turnout of conservatives.
Conservatives who despise McInsane.
Of course, the gay marriage amendment would even have been necessary if Willard Romney had done was was necessary to stop gay marriage in Massachusetts.
Yes, but they won’t be voting for Hillary. The military is still very strong in this state and it is loaded with moderates and liberal republicans.
I don’t like McCain either and I will probably treat any of the leading republican candidates who becomes the nominee the way I treated my RINO lib governor when he was trying to get elected. I will vote for the other races but not necessarily for the top of the ticket.
But I don’t imagine that my methods will be copied by many people in this state.
Ahhhh but you’re wrong.........you watch the vote today....conservative DON’T hate McCain.
How come when Romney flip/flops it’s forgiven....and when McCain flip/flops Freepers go ballistic? I’ve lived in MA under Romney.....he’s Teddy’s friend!
Despite his honorable service in our military, he may even be a worse choice than Hillary for Commander in Chief of the armed forces.
Hillary isn't likely to be as accommodating to terrorists, and she is unlikely to support the International Criminal Courts. If she did, she might face prosecution in them. Bill likely would have for Bosnia, and maybe even for some of his missile strikes.
Thanks - yes, I keep looking for reasons that I am wrong to be repulsed at the thought of McCain as president, and I am having trouble finding them.
If you find any, let me know. If he wins the nomination, I'm going to have to try and convince myself that voting for him is the right thing to do.
Sad to say, as it stands now there’s no way I’ll vote for him.
I love it!!! On the very day that McCain may be set in stone the a nomination for president, the MSM begins the derailing of the Insane Express.
LOL...this is only the beginning.
> Willard Romney had done was was necessary to stop gay
> marriage in Massachusetts.
And what, pray tell, was that?
Gay marriage legislation was passed from the BENCH, by a JUDGE who happens to be married to the editor-in-chief of the flaming liberal rag, the Boston Globe.
The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court agreed with the judge that “Gay Marriage” was a constitutional right, in spite of the effort mounted by Mitt Romney for the opposition in court.
The fix was in. Everybody knew how the Mass. Supreme Court would decide.
The Mass. Legislature would not even allow a Marriage Ammendment to the Mass. Constitution to go to the voters as a Referendum. Hundreds of thousands of signatures were gathered in support of the Marriage Ammendment Referendum.
But the Mass. State Legislature knows what’s best for the little people.
I thought it was those activists judges liberals love to bench that required the legislature to divine special rights.
