I am really shocked. Listening to her Sunday she did not sound that way at all!
"It is undeniable that political sophisticates understand such fairness and how to go about destroying it," Justice Souter announced in his dissent in Veith v. Jubilerer, the Pennsylvania redistricting case in which the Court declined by a vote of 5 to 4 to immerse itself in the details of the partisan redistricting of Pennsylvania. Thus Hewitt makes his argument for falling in line behind a RINO who's duplicity is already undeniable by quoting SOUTER.
The same Souter who was appointed to SCOTUS by GHWB after Warren RUDMAN - an old friend of Souter - vouched for him to GHWB & Sununu.
Now we find this equally duplicitous Rudman both prominent in McCain's campaign and suggested by McCain himself as a possible Attorney General in his administration.
But Conservatives must vote for McCain to protect the SCOTUS from Democrats making SCOTUS appointments?
Protect it for what? To leave it to McCain (Gang of 14) & Rudman to make Souter like appointments?
Am I missing something?
The GOP has made it perfectly clear we Conservatives are a nuisance at best.
Why on earth should I vote GOP come November? McCain won’t fight to make the tax cuts permanent, he voted against them twice.
Judicial nominees? Like McCain would ever even CONSIDER fighting DEMOCRATS....(chuckle)
At best we would get another Sandy ‘Maybe yes, maybe no’ O’Connor - but I doubt it.
Vote for the GOP? Why bother? Its become DNC Lite.
McCain thinks Ginsburg is a excellent judge. Why in the world should anybody think he won’t appoint more Ginsburgs?
From your keyboard to God’s eyes.
you can think someone does an excellent job and respect them at it but not agree with their ideology at all. Just because Arnold stated that Hitler was a great Orator it does not make him a Nazi.
As for your point about appointing another Ginsburg: He did flat out state that he would love to appoint somone like Roberts. There is however absolutely nothing to suggest that he definitely would or would not wind up appointing one like her. I just think based on the evidence provided he would appoint a Roberts or worst case scenario a Kennedy - both preferable to anything Hill/Bama would appoint. If you ask me what evidence the man is prolife and pro gun rights if nothing else. i reitirate the man has a lifetime ACU ranking of 82 and 65 for 2006 while the Dems are 9 and 12 / 8 and 8. why the heck would he appoint someone who is against these?
You must know the following:
Rudman's connection to SouterSee my post #142. If you doubt the information here's some links.Rudman's role in his SCOTUS selection, and
Rudman's present connection to McCain
I have a reason to hold my nose: Hillary. Or, Obamanation.
Clearly the lesser of two evils.
i dont doubt you my friend
i know about Rudman and Souter *shudder*
i do feel that no one would be foolish enough to appoint another Souter considering what an embarrasment he turned out to be for BUsh Sr.. Unless of course he really is a lunatic. At the very least we have a shot at another Roberts with McCain as opposed to no shot at all with Hill/Bama
Your first statement does not compute. How can you think an activist judge is doing an excellent job if you don’t agree with their ideology?
He fought too hard with democrats against conservative judges. That tells me all I need to know. I’m not a republican anyway so I won’t be jackbooted into voting for him.
.
.
...wait for it...

.
He is going to give us an Obama or a Hillary!
Talk about a quagmire.
which judges did he block?
What does that matter? His actions against conservatives in congress is all that matters to me.
And this is unforgivable too.........

McCain was quoted as having saying Alito “was too conservative”. He stalled Bush’s judicial selctions with the “Gang of 14”. Don’t forget Bush nominated Harriet Miers before Alito. McCain’s point man is Warren Rudman a former Senator who sold old man Bush on nominating Souter. So I would not trust McCain one iota to select conservative judges.
