Romney out. Congratulations Freepers on ensuring there was no conservative in the race. (Vanity)

Posted on 02/07/2008 9:51:12 AM PST by mbraynard

You rallied behind someone who never had their heart in the race and was never a leader in their life (Thompson) or never had a chance in hell (Hunter). What is needed more than anything to win the WH is a drive to do the spade work necessary to get there. So by denying Romney victory in IA and NH and SC, and splitting the field, you now have probably the worst enemy of all - someone the Wonderful Mr. Jim Robinson never saw fit to put a 'truth file' on.

So, nice work.

With Myth Romney in the race there still wasn’t a conservative, but there was a better liar.

Congratulations Freepers on ensuring there was no conservative in the race.

You actually believe that the couple thousand active FreeRepublic posters have that kind of influence?

Sorry, but the vast majority of voters haven't even heard of FreeRepublic and of those with some knowledge, many consider posters here as right wing cult kooks.

Thank you Jim and all freepers. McAmnesty is now the nominee!

Without the help of McCain supporters -such as Thompson and Huckabee - joining McCain and attacking only Romney and spreading DailyKos BS material in Internet forums, you enabled McAmnesty.

Fred Thompson’s legacy to the world: Campaign-Finance Reform and Nomination of John McAmnesty.

Why? For telling the truth? This forum never took seriously the threat from McCain. McCain is a much bigger threat to conservatism and liberty than Guiliani. To paraphrase Churchill: “We may have killed the wrong b*st*rd”.

Fred had all the right positions, and he'd stand around all day with his hands in his pockets in defense of them.

I loved the guy, but if by some miracle he'd been elected he would have been right on every issue and gotten rolled like a fat kid at a soccer match.

I’m sorry you’re upset. I’m not happy about McCain, either, but I don’t think this thread is going to help anything.

Since McCain is 100% unacceptable and Huckabee is a clown, now we are left with Paul.

You’re an idiot unless you can explain how this is on the shoulders of FReepers. No, you’re an idiot anyway.

Some of us have been doing our part.

Romney plays the statesman in the end. Not too many of those left. If McCain chooses someone else for VP, then he’s committing political suicide.
