"We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn't make any sense at all." Ronald Reagan, 1965
A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency or simply to swell its numbers. Ronald Reagan, CPAC address, 1975
With that, I give you 2008 Republican presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain. He went before the same Conservative Political Action Committee and gave a speech, ostensibly to try to mend fences with the conservatives whom he has both antagonized and needs to win this November's election.

...here's a bunny with John McCain's Campaign on its head.
LOL! Damn, you beat me to it!
I wonder if McCain will sit down and do an in depth interview with a strong conservative, say Limbaugh or Hannity or Levin.
McCain and his backup group, The Bluebloods, were so sure they did not need their conservative life jackets. Let them go down with their Titanic.
John McCain’s CPAC Speech Falls Flat; Will His Campaign?
Yes, it already has.
Wrong verb tense. ;)
By the end, all the anti-McCain folks were cheering him.
This has been amply documented on The Corner.
Yeah... Its time for Obama anyway...Cant you see this is the politics of division...
Its time for change, Its time for We, Its time for Osama umm I meant Obama...
Kneel at the Altar of Hussein Obama and if you do not we will say that you are the cause of this division, you are intolerant and hate filled, we are the victims you are the oppressor...
One thing that came through is that his age should not be a problem if he consistenly presents himself as he did during that speech.
The hall/theater was likely full of scum-sucking moderate-to-liberal RINO mccain supporting goofballs PLANTED in the crowd by mccain's campaign.
The others merely put up with this RINO, because it was the polite thing to do.
The writer of the above article had it right though...
"On the surface, the speech was good. It's even better when you forget the man who is giving it and his record, which belies all those words."
REALITY, and a RECORD over YEARS of public service in which mccain f**ked Conservatives over and over again, can NOT be trumped by a "good" speech or two.
What I heard is that he “intends” to do this, that and the other. Sen. Craig intended to step down too! I don’t give a whit about someone intending to do something. That only tells me he is not sure he can, or he is not sure he really wants to.
Wonderful news! Let Hillary/Barack deal with the Democrat Congress.
We don't need that nonstop headache.
McCain bused in the cheering crowd at CPAC, a speech that sounds good from a open borders, Gorebal warming faux republican does not impress me.
I have been taking the time to inform everyone who doesn’t know what McCain is all about. Many who don’t pay attention were unaware of what, and who, is the Real McCain.
With these entreaties to the GOP right wing, McLame only solidifies his position as the most arrogant candidate in the race.
His position on amnesty for illegals has not changed. The only change in his boder/immigration stance is that he says he heard the people and will secure the border, FIRST. FIRST implies a second and subsequent element. He’s not backed off his amnesty plans, just re-ordered the sequencing.
His willingness to reach across the aisle has given us McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, etc. He has trampled free speech, and he has trampled the clear wishes of his constituents and the people of the America.
He is not right for this time, or any time. We need solid conservative representation in order to keep pressure on apologists, appeasers and socialists among the DhimmiRats; those who would sell us out in the name of political correctness and multi-culti BS. No thanks.
Lock and Load.
I was there...in the third row center...it was greeted modestly at best, despite the McCaniacs put in strategic spots.
Many folks never stood once, applause was polite but tepid.
McCann folks came around and removed Romney signs from people, with vigor, and two women in the front row who did not stand were told to leave the event mid way through. They did not do so, but it was a scene.
Regardless of what you read, I was there...
...and they will...while furiously “spinning” the deck chairs
Political Fallout from the first Clinton Presidency:
- GOP seats gained in House: 60
- GOP seats gained in Senate: 11
- GOP governorships gained: 14
- GOP state legislative seats gained: c. 500
- Democrat officeholders who have become Republicans: 439
- Republican officeholders who have become Democrats: 3
Will a 2nd Clinton in the WH be as beneficial to the GOP?
Can we survive a 2nd Clinton Presidency?
