COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) Danish police said Tuesday they have arrested several people suspected of plotting to kill one of the 12 cartoonists behind the Prophet Muhammad drawings that sparked an uproar in the Muslim world two years ago.
The arrests were made in pre-dawn raids in Aarhus, western Denmark, "to prevent a terror-related murder," the police intelligence agency said. It did not say how many people were arrested nor did it mention which cartoonist was targeted.
However, according to Jyllands-Posten, the Danish newspaper that first published the drawings on Sept. 30, 2005, the suspects were planning to kill its cartoonist Kurt Westergaard.
"There were very concrete murder plans against Kurt Westergaard," said Carsten Juste, the paper's editor-in-chief.
The cartoons were later reprinted by a range of Western publications, and they sparked deadly protests in parts of the Muslim world.
Islamic law generally opposes any depiction of the prophet, even favorable, for fear it could lead to idolatry.
Westergaard, 73, and his wife Gitte, 66, had been living under police protection because of the murder plans, Jyllands-Posten reported. It said those arrested included both Danish and foreign citizens.
"Of course I fear for my life when the police intelligence service say that some people have concrete plans to kill me. But I have turned fear into anger and resentment," Westergaard said in a statement published on Jyllands-Posten's Web site.
PET, the police intelligence service, called the action "preventive," saying it decided to strike "at an early phase to stop the planning and the carrying out of the murder."

Well now as if this isn’t a banner day for Islam the stupid turds.
How many years will it take to eradicate islam I wonder, will my grandchildren live in fear, their grandchildren?
That's a good thing. I think society as a whole has got to stop fearing these thugs and become angry. Islamics love fear, and if they can instill fear in us as a way of life, they're more than half way to achieving their goal.
Indeed...
Where is our expression of outrage?
In a few stupid cartoons, that is where. Our outrage rests in the civil commentary about radical islam. Commentary that does not spark western civilization to commit murder.
Yet their (islamics) commentary instigates and advocates hate, murder, vandalism and death.
Wake up, Europe!
I get your point, but over the last six years I believe our magnificent armed forces have shown plenty of outrage toward the most devout believers of that despicable cult.
Not a big fan of “body counts” as used in ‘Nam, but it WOULD be interesting to see a close estimate of how many miscreants have been painfully sent on their way to allah and their 72 hillarys’, courtesy of Uncle Sam.
I think our clandestine services should slaughter a hundred radical imams and mullahs for every incident of this type. The Islamics understand nothing but naked force.
Executions are not a solution unless specific crimes are committed. However, Islam is a death cult and fascist political movement that subjugates its adherents and as well as others under its rule. Islam must be legally strictly forbidden; the Nazi party is illegal in Germany.
If Islam is confined to the walls of Mecca, in what direction do they pray?

For starters, we're going to have to stop this "arresting" them, and start doing something more permanent.
When you call Orkin, do they come out and "arrest" your roaches?
Future News
In raids throughout the province of California yesterday, Islamic authorities arrested dozens of wanted cartoon characters who had eluded Caliphate agents for months.
Among the fugitives apprehended were Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, Garfield, and Odie, who seemed confused as he was led away slobbering. The Mouses squeaked their innocence to Al Jazeera reporters as they were bundled into vans, and begged their captors not to leave them alone with Garfield.
Still at large and number one on the most wanted list is Porky Pig. Little Bo Peep also remains on the lam.
I think society as a whole has got to stop fearing these thugs and become angry...
Indeed:
"... You don't have a word of condemnation in you until the non-Islamic world rises up and starts to make it clear that we are fed up with your damned religion. We've had it up to here.
And somebody, like I said yesterday, somebody needs to grab the Muslim world by the shirt collar, backhand it a good one, knock it into the damn corner and say straighten up or we're gonna eradicate you beetles from the face of the Earth "

There. That's better.
A better idea. Prevent future problems by expelling all members of that world-expansionist movement cleverly disguised as a religion.
I really think everyone in America with a web site needs to post some of these “offensive” images. I dare these slimes to come around me, my children, wife or other family members.
It needs to be expressed by every person who believes in western civilization. From protecting our Rights to freedom of speech, religion, press, etc. right here at home.
We need to defend our homefront just as vigorously as our military defends our country. We cannot let our military men/women fight and die in vain. If we at home, are not willing to 'fight' for and protect our Rights at home, we cannot expect to keep them. The is a song called, "God Bless the USA." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RssIN3ustUw
And while I can no longer serve in the military, I can still Stand up and Defend the USA by not giving my Rights away.
The see-no-evil, hear-no-evil, speak-all-manner-of-evil democrat administration taking office in 2009 will arrest them as a criminal proceedure--after they've killed--because we won't have any advance knowledge or warning. They dems'll load up our court system, and give plenty of gubmint-subsidized work to the lawyer class, defending islamicists.
