Face it. It is all but inevitable that McCain win the race for the GOP presidential nominee. Get over it. McCain will be the GOP nominee.
The time for divisive talk about how much you hate McCain for screwing the conservatives and how he is a RINO and his other faults is over. WE are doing NO ONE any good by continuing to publicly air our grievances about him. I know, I have done my share. I don't like him one bit, but he will be a far better president than either of the two 'Rats.
With the atmosphere as anti-McCain as it is, it would not be hard for a liberal posing as another McCain hater to sneak in and keep throwing rocks at that hornet's nest. So let's tone down the rhetoric and the vitriol aimed at him and TRY to find a common ground with him.
McCain, we can hope to influence and guide. Obama and Hitlery will absolutely NOT listen or compromise on any conservative issue.
We know that there is absolutely no way that the 'Rats will make the Bust tax cuts permanent if there is a 'Rat in the WH.
We KNOW that any Supreme Court judge who retires or dies will immediately be replaces with a pro-abortion, anti-gun, anti-freedom liberal; probably from the 9th Circus.
We KNOW that there will be nothing but pure amnesty and absolutely no border enforcement if a 'Rat gets the WH. The 'Rats NEED poor, uneducated, miserable people to advance their socialist agenda.
It is time to stop bickering and hating McCain and stop the postings about how you will sit home and watch Obama or Hitlery become the next president. That is worse than stupidity. It is admitting defeat and quitting.
And I for one will not give up and pout at my home on election day.

Good point, and Conservatives IMO need some encouragement, so even small victories will be welcome.
That is what I have been doing. While McCain isn’t my 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd choice for president, the alternative is SO unacceptable as to make me hold my nose and vote for him.

No one has ranted about McCain more than I have over the last few years. He has not covered himself with glory with CFR, Gang of 14, etc.
But he is the nominee. Many times over the last few years I have told anti-Bush people here that you don’t always get perfect and you have to stick with the party leader. Well, it’s time for me to live by what I preached.
I will vote for McCain with as much enthusiasm as I can muster. I will donate to the RNC. And I will vocally support Senator McCain.
Why? Because I keep picturing Hillary or Obama strutting along reviewing the troops. That is unacceptable.
We are at war. The troops deserve to have someone who will fight rather than surrender. The troops deserve someone who will not send them as pizza delivery guys to every third world nation. And the American people deserve someone who wants to KILL terrorists rather than talking to them.
It is Supremely ironic that we have McCain as the nominee. Perhaps this is God’s way of testing our patience and love of country. After all, should we cause an abandonment of the war and the Iraqis, a retreat with loss of American prestige, and a complete waste of all that has been accomplished in Iraq and Afghanistan, just so we can teach the RNC a lesson? I don’t think so.
And as sure as I am sitting here, come next November Donald Rumsfeld will vote for McCain, and so will Bush and Cheney. THAT is how responsible people face an election like this.

In this case, the “R” word is not even applicable, our choice is pretty clear, Barack will Cut and Run out of Iraq, McCain will not, Barack is already trying to hang “We could be in Iraq for 100 yrs” around Mad John’s neck.
Do we want to win in Iraq, or do should it just be given up on?

Is there anyone on this forum that thinks that Hillary! will turn over the reins of government after the end of her term(s)? Let her in now and we'll never be rid of either of them. And I just can't imagine how bad an Obama presidency would be. I fear for our republic.

The thing is we can still gripe about McCain and work to defeat Hillary or Obama. They are not mutually exclusive.
