(IsraelNN.com) A local task force has advised Jewish students not to enroll at the University of California's Irvine campus "until tangible changes are made" to combat growing anti-Semitism. The Newport Beach and Costa Mesa Daily Pilot reported that a community task force stated, "The acts of anti-Semitism are real and well documented. Hate speech has been unrelenting. There is no indication that the university is at all concerned about the disconnect between campus values and the values of the greater society."
The State Department issued a report two months ago that the university does not discriminate against Jews, but the task force's report, based on interviews with faculty, students and local residents, asserts that "Jewish students have been harassed" and that faculty members cannot speak out against anti-Israel speakers because of the pressure to be "politically correct."

The advice will fall on deaf ears. Look at Columbia. Jewish parents are still tripping over each other by the thousands to get the privilege of forking over a couple hundred thousand bucks so their little darlings can spend 4 years there. Never ceases to amaze me.
If the muslims get footbaths, can Christians have baptismal fonts in public places? How about a niche for Catholics? Oh, right, such accomodations are only available for one particualr group...

Irvine is one of the most right cities in the country. A huge GOP strong hold. It is also one of the chosen locations for Arab Americans to live in the USA. It has a growing Muslim population.
Are you serious? I did not know this. Actual acts of anti-semitism, or just anti-Israel sentiment as on most university campuses??
Anywhere I send my children, unless I send them to a specialized religious college, they will be in an environment hostile to their religion and their morals.
I went to the relatively conservative University of Chicago in the 90s, and Catholicism as well as Judaism were constantly under attack even in that environment.
I was threatened with assault more than once because of my religious beliefs and I'll bet that if it weren't for my physical stature I would actually have been assaulted.
Where is the Hillel chapter? We need to get some OC Jewish organizations ON this as well. I will be forwarding this article in your link around to people I know. This cannot stand.
