McCain-Soros: A false trail

The Internet and cable TV have been rife with allegations that George Soros funds John McCain. One of the sources for this claim is a book I co-authored last year called The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party.

What we reported was that Soros made a contribution to McCain's political organization when McCain was devising the McCain-Feingold bill. If you oppose that bill as I did and do, that's the end of the story.

Soros is an anti-American radical, who thinks George Bush is responsible for the war on terror and that Israel is the aggressor and genocidal armies like Hamas the victims. On these critical issues of our time, John McCain has absolutely nothing in common with George Soros. For Soros "American supremacy" is the greatest threat for world peace. For McCain, American military supremacy is the greatest guarantor of world peace. That's quite a difference.

...dispiriting to see how many freepers swallowed the story hook, line and sinker.

Indeed, especially considering it was a Corsi/WND article. Quite irresponsible -- they didn't even wait for Debka, Newsmax, and the World Tribune to publish confirming stories! Pure desperation.

Well that's only one direct contribution. The main street partnership got Soros money too. It's one of the reasons I voted against my former congressrino.

"dispiriting to see how many freepers swallowed the story hook, line and sinker."

Why wouldn't we "swallow" it? Look at what McCain has sponsored. He is carrying out the agenda of the elites, and unless you think you're one of them, you're going to end up like the rest of us - slaves overrun by uneducated masses from the 3rd world, paying taxes to the UN, and without any rights. Instead of "thinking independently," you might try doing some research on what McCain has been up to the past 8 yrs. or more. Then try to figure out WHY.

It appears you two are the ones doing the big GULP... just because you WANT to believe.

How about just looking at the old website and the actual donors. (See post #24)

That good enough for you, or will you keep your blinders on?

Good point. The RMSP is destroying us from within.

"Big money often gives to both sides. In some cases the opposite sides aren’t that opposite."

Yes. If you want to bet every horse in the race, you will get a winner. Only in politics will that sort of bet pay off.

What we have here is a real fine display of why McCain is dangerous. Too many people are willing to let a little more principle erode every day just because McCain is the republican.

Are you too lazy to go back and look at the 8+ yrs. of articles that have nothing to do with WND or Corsi? Just curious.

Thanks—and thanks for the ping.

Anyone who wants to see gory details of McCain’s “Reform Institute” really should sift through that last thread.
And that only touches the surface, IMO.

Oh please, give the McCain bashing a rest .
I do not want another 2006 election fiasco.
Mitt has thrown his delegate to McCain so its OVER .
WE have a truly radicalized Dem party trying to drag this country into a socialist hell hole.
Soros money is being piled a mile high into Obama radical hands for a reason. Enough .

John McCain Gets Soros Cash

Senator John McCain's Reform Institute has suffered some bad press recently due to its involvement in an influence-peddling scandal with Cablevision. As usual, however, mainstream media have failed to go to the root of the matter.

Founded on June 26, 2001, McCain's Reform Institute for Campaign and Election Issues has long served as a nerve center for the so-called "campaign finance reform" movement – a movement which has done nothing to clean up campaign finance, but has done a great deal to empower federal judges and government bureaucrats to regulate political speech, in defiance of the Bill of Rights.

Now here's the kicker. The list of donors published on the Reform Institute's Web site reads like a veritable Who's Who of radical, leftwing foundations, including the Tides Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Proteus Fund and George Soros' Open Society Institute (hat tip, Winfield Myers).

Not surprisingly, in view of the above associations, Arianna Huffington serves on the Reform Institute's Advisory Board. Huffington has long acted as a front for George Soros' "campaign finance reform" efforts. In 2000, she organized the so-called Shadow Conventions which provided John McCain with a bully pulpit to stump for his now-infamous McCain-Feingold Act. George Soros shouldered about one third of the cost of the Shadow Conventions.

It appears to me that there was only one man with courage, honesty and dedication running for president, Fred Thompson, and he lost all of his support before the first round. I don’t trust Hillary or Obama and although McCain is a RINO, I don’t trust him either. This is going to be a bad year.

Soooooo... Soros, an avowed socialist and enemy of everything America stands for, gave McCain money... which McCain kept. The result was CFR, which damaged our rights to free speech and put Soros-controlled political groups in charge of the purse strings of the democrat party.

How is this a false trail? It’s the same thing Clinton did... accepting money from an enemy of the US, in the name of political ambition.

The Shadow Party

“I had no idea what we conservatives were truly up against until I read The Shadow Party, and I have recommended this book to every activist and politician I know. The more we know about the Shadow Party, the easier it will be to replicate it and beat them at their own game.”

"Soros money is being piled a mile high into Obama radical hands for a reason."

Yes, Obama is Soros et.al. first choice over your boy, McCain, who is only there as Soros back-up in case Obama fails to get it done.

"Oh please, give the McCain bashing a rest."

Interesting of you to join 2 wks. ago just to tell us to lay off McCain and the Soros connection since you seem to manage to tie Obama to him in at least every other post you make.
