Clinton's Campaign In Disarray As Staff Squabble Over "Attack Adverts"
Belfast Telegraph ^ | February 16, 2008 | By Leonard Doyle

Hillary Clinton is filling the airwaves with negative ads attacking Barack Obama as the race for the Democratic nomination enters a decisive three-week period.

But her strategy of going on the offensive against a likeable candidate is causing disarray insdie her campaign team.

Spats between her senior staff have leaked to the press and are causing embarrassment for Mrs Clinton as she struggles to find a message that resonates with voters and blocks Mr Obama's progress in the crucial states of Ohio and Texas. Mrs Clinton badly needs to come up with a successful advertising strategy if she is to win the 4 March primaries. This week she launched her first negative ad in Wisconsin - which votes on Tuesday - saying that Mr Obama was refusing to debate with her. But as fast as it went on air, the Obama campaign fought back saying there had already been 18 debates.

Mrs Clinton seems to be staking everything on a strategy of launching expensive attack ads in Texas and Ohio, where she still leads in the polls.

In the past month, the Obama campaign has spent $36m on uplifting ads while Mrs Clinton, who is short of money, spent less than $30m without appearing to break through to the public. Much of the blame is being heaped on her chief strategist, Mark Penn, who caused further embarrassment yesterday when it was revealed that the PR company he heads received hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees from a nuclear power company that Mrs Clinton accused Mr Obama of being too close to...

I can't stand Obama, but you can't deny that he has that certain undefinable IT any candidate running for any office would kill for.

Plus the guy's a helluva speaker. Of course so was that little Austrian coporal with the funny mustache.........

Much of the blame is being heaped on her chief strategist, Mark Penn, ...

While Mr Penn is a creep, the real blame is with Mrs C. She is a mean, vicious, arrogant, unappealing, money grubbing, unattractive, screeching harpy. I will refrain from getting into the more negative aspects of her character.

So Mark Penn is going nuclear in more ways than one. What a riot.

"saying that Mr Obama was refusing to debate with her."

As the article points out, Obama needs only ask: "In which of the prior 18 debates did I refuse to debate?"

Otherwise, my questions are: "What debates?" Hillary has participated in debates? Is she referring to the wimpy Wolf Blitzer love fests? The hard hitting questions like "diamonds or pearls?" Is she considering having the FOX News panel now and having a real debate? (We know the answer to that)

The politics of despair.

They only work if the opponent is a Republican. A committed liberal who speaks of "hope", and is of a protected minority status, is totally immune.

Herself, the Cold and Joyless, is fast becoming the wizened old crone that is Snow White's stepmother. Oh, Herself can evoke the Superdelegate dragon, but in the end, it may not be enough, as the charming young prince rides to do battle and smite the contending but uncoronated Queen of Darkness.

It was not supposed to be this way.

The oddslayers in Vegas and Atlantic City are already making book on when Obama ends up in Fort Marcy Park suffering from a lead snowstorm.

The Hillary campaign just doesn’t get it. As soon as she opens her mouth and screeches her off-key voice, people turn away in large numbers. She is the most repulsive, polarizing candidate in recent history.

“Spats between her senior staff have leaked to the press and are causing embarrassment for Mrs Clinton...”

I thought she was a reknowned “control freak”. She can’t control Bill, and she can’t control her staff.

Great President she’d make. /s

Fact, somewhere and at some time the Clintons are going to get theirs, whether it is now, in November or while sitting in the W.H. All the daggers are pointing their way....

The Clinton campaigns problem now is that Hillary seems to be stiff. If she doesn’t learn to loosen up she is toast.

I think we can all see what a service it is to the Republican party that the political operatives pick our candidate long before the first primary or caucus is ever held. When the Indian's refuse to follow the lead of the chiefs things quickly become a messy business.

Sarcasm, ya think!

Embarrassment??? If the Democrats were capable of embarrassment they'd wear bags over their heads for the rest of their lives.
