Here's an example of how schools should be treating diversity in their schools. Perhaps this kind of example can help prevent incidents like the murder that happened in Oxnard, California.
CNN interviews Kim Pearson of Trans Youth Family Advocates about an eight-year-old transgender-identified child who is returning to a school in Douglas County, Colorado that has adjusted its facilities and teaching environment to accommodate her.
According to CNN, two unisex bathrooms have been provided for the student, teachers will call the student by her name, parents and teachers will get info on transgender people, and officials will be made available for questions.
The school released this statement: "We continue to be focused on providing a positive learning environment for this student and all students in the class and school that is free from harassment. As with many other students, this particular student brings a diverse set of circumstances to the school setting."

At eight years old this child has not any knowledge of what it means to be either sex so how can this child make an informed decision on gender?
What is going on with these parents and why isn’t anyone considering this?
Too bad the kid didn’t just identify as a Transformer as most 8-year-old boys do. Then he could still use the boys’ room.
Tomboys of the world unite. You are about to be transgendered before you even know what gender means. The people who run that school district are out of their freakin’ minds.
How does an 8 y/o realize that s/he is “transgender” w/o input from adults?

How can one be transgendered when one hasn’t even hit puberty yet? I bet this kid’s parents aren’t folks I’d want to meet.

I'll bet this kid's parents are the reason this kid is gender-confused.
Hell, at that age I had a tea set. Today some enterprising psychologist would have prescribed a dress, ignoring the fact that I also had a toy tommy gun, 6 shooters, baseball and other boy stuff. (Mr)NHD

It’s “parents” are the gay’s in the village legislature who seek desperately to normalize their own sickness by controling others through laws.
It takes a village to ruin a child.
This is child abuse.
how can they be so certain that when this child becomes
an adult, he/she won’t become unhinged for being manipulated
by his/her teachers/predator?
8-year-olds can’t get tattoos...buy or drink alcohol...drive...join the service...get married...holy cow! He should be buying comic books not making decisions like this. When are the parrents going to take responsibility for raising kids, instead of allowing the kids (or anyone else) to make decisions like this? Think it’s a media stunt?
