I know that area well. Just got off the phone with a friend who has a Russell Cabin in that vincinity. Our boat is at Castaway.

I hope there is no damage to Children’s Harbor.

Thank you for checking.

It appears these storms are weakening as the afternoon goes on. I’m praying they’ll just be thunderstorms in the next few hours.

By the time they get to north Georgia they will be.

And we are fine. Touch and go about an hour ago, but we’re lean, mean, fightin’ machines! With a safe room in a very big house. The hardest thing for me is getting my mother to leave her next door trailer home and come on over. I have to just about carry her.

Looks like the squall line has shifted E of NW Atlanta and is now moving up the E side of the metro area from SW to NE.

Unfortunately that means my boss and a lot of folks in our office are now in the crosshairs in Gainesville. Hopefully it will skate along S of them in the unpopulated area between Gainesville and Athens. Gainesville does not need another direct hit, they lost 250 people in 1936.

There are alot many wonderful small churches in that area. They have that outdoor facility at Kowaliga too.

We once went to a sunrise service at the ampitheater which is right there too. I was beautiful.

AB, I have thought about visiting your dad’s church many times.

Hey I guess we must be sorta neighbors...

Cobbs Ford in Prattville took a pretty hard hit it looks like. My niece works there at the Chick-Fil-A and looks like it got some damage too.

I work in Prattville and I come in through Coosada Road from Tallapoosa County. Going to go interstate tomorrow through Montgomery to be on the safe side.

They are saying some injuries but no fatalities reported...thank the Lord!

Praying for all affected by the storms.

Yikes! Now my mom’s area (Wedowee AL in Randolph county) is under tornado warning. She’s OK now and is keeping watch in case she needs to head to the basement.

After my son’s college in TN got hit hard Feb. 5, I’ve been keeping close watch on the weather reports for my family and friends down south.
