He can pick up a spare but can he pick up the state?

That was the question after Republican Mike Huckabee bowled 10 frames Sunday evening at Olympic Lanes on Milwaukee's South Side.

Sporting a little new color in his face and some sharp words for Republican officials who want him to get out of the race, Huckabee is again sloshing through the state after a detour to the Caribbean.

Congressman Duncan Hunter's endorsement of Governor Huckabee
is helping to bring defense and border conservatives on board:

"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter...
"Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity."

Huckabee - Hunter '08

I messed up. That’s not an excerpt, but the Houston Chronicle apparently doesn’t require excerpting. Feel free to correct my error if you’d like.

Hunter - Huckabee, unless you want another not-ready-for-prime-time Governor in charge of national security.

Huckabee driving hard in Wisconsin

Is he driving around the state, looking for people smoking in public, calling them "Sinners!" and threatening to raise their taxes? ;)

There the Huckasmuck goes. We can thank him for pealing off the evangelicals and making it impossible for Hunter or Thompson to amass enough support. Now he wants our support? Didn’t he say he wanted to build a bridge between liberals and conservatives? Why doesn’t he go back to Arkansas where he belongs. He at least doesn’t have to live in fear of one of the 1000+ pardons he granted while governor.

Huckabee staying in the race gives the Republican Party the only means to measure how much conservatives support they stand to lose in the General Election, and if McCain is the nominee, they may lose plenty.

“Hunter - Huckabee, unless you want another not-ready-for-prime-time Governor in charge of national security.”

Congressman Hunter would make a great president, but Governor Huckabee is more likely to beat Obama.

Agreed. and as far as Huck is concerned, while I don't support him, I would be very happy to see him take the win from McCain. Anyone who is a thorn in the side of the Traitorous Bastard certainly has my best wishes. Here's hoping he stays in all the way and robs McCain of anything he can.

- After bowling and taking video of reporters bowling, Huckabee said he was hoping Wisconsin residents “vote their convictions Tuesday.”

Huckabee has a great sense of humor. I can imagine what girlie-men trying to bowl look like and why Huckabee was getting it on video - LOL!

Huckabee is my third choice (first was Brownback then Thompson) but whatever the outcome he is by far the most fun, inspiring and energetic. I regret he was not my first choice.

Isn’t it a pity that regardless of how hard Huckabee now drives, he’s on road to nowhere.

He must have great regret to know that he might have reached the White House, had he not resorted to dirty tricks and lies. He could have been seen as a respected religious man, had he not shown himself as a bigot. He may have been seen as an honest man, had he not resorted to deception. I saw the promise of a big man, become very small, and his smallness was caused by his own actions.

His continued effort only helps to seal his fate for yet another failure, should he consider a run in 2012. He will be known as the goofy religious candidate and treated accordingly.

At one time I saw Huckabee as a nice guy with a great deal of promise in this race, but he gave away his integrity and quickly set himself up for failure.

He continues to make noise, but that’s all it amounts to anymore.. is noise, just clever noise that helps to seal him off from any future runs.

It’s tough for any man to see himself so close to the top, to only slip back down and start to recognized that he has failed. No man likes failure, but real men take it with grace and with the intent to try another day. Not Huckabee, he will kick and scream like a little girl as he has to face the final door slammed into his face.

Perhaps he will go off to run a church, for that he might be suited.

I think I could enjoy Huckbee cracking jokes at a BBQ, but he just isn’t presidential material. IMHO

I cant figure out what the huckster is up to. He clearly isnt running for prez. It will come out sooner or later about the source of his money and so on.

Just a guess but Id say he will go third party soon.

He torpedoed any chance we had to keep McCain out. Now we are screwed. Huckabee is a weasel at best.

Huck will run as long as he has money coming in and he does have money coming in. Huck has a lean operation and unpaid volunteers
