Obama’s Communist Mentor
AIM ^ | February 18, 2008 | Cliff Kincaid

Posted on 02/19/2008 4:21:00 AM PST by IrishMike

In his biography of Barack Obama, David Mendell writes about Obama's life as a "secret smoker" and how he "went to great lengths to conceal the habit." But what about Obama's secret political life? It turns out that Obama's childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, was a communist.

In his books, Obama admits attending "socialist conferences" and coming into contact with Marxist literature. But he ridicules the charge of being a "hard-core academic Marxist," which was made by his colorful and outspoken 2004 U.S. Senate opponent, Republican Alan Keyes.

However, through Frank Marshall Davis, Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his "poetry" and getting advice on his career path. But Obama, in his book, Dreams From My Father, refers to him repeatedly as just "Frank."

The reason is apparent: Davis was a known communist who belonged to a party subservient to the Soviet Union. In fact, the 1951 report of the Commission on Subversive Activities to the Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii identified him as a CPUSA member. What's more, anti-communist congressional committees, including the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), accused Davis of involvement in several communist-front organizations.

Trevor Loudon, a New Zealand-based libertarian activist, researcher and blogger, noted evidence that "Frank" was Frank Marshall Davis in a posting in March of 2007.

Obama's communist connection adds to mounting public concern about a candidate who has come out of virtually nowhere, with a brief U.S. Senate legislative record, to become the Democratic Party frontrunner for the U.S. presidency.

Mounting public concern?

I see two Democrat Party candidates, and one Republican impostor, all enemies of the Republic, anyone of which will sell out the United States.

Mounting concern? What me worry?

Let’s see. A hard core commie, a hard core control freak fascist, or a hard core one-worlder globalist power freak.

And people wonder why I’m voting third party?

I’ve been watching for a street battle between the race-baiting fascists and the communists in the rat party. I think at the Denver rat convention everything will boil over and we’ll get a glimpse of 1930 Berlin.

Here’s another reason for Freepers to vote for the Witch, not Osama, in upcoming primaries. We know what she is; we’re only beginning to lear that he’s a closet Muslim and a closet Communist. He couldn’t even get a securioty clearance to become a military O1.

Now there is a "knight in shining armor"!

On can only hope that before they are able to escape, (when TSHTF) their planes never get off the tarmac.

As tainted as he is, McCain is not a Marxist; there is NO doubt in my mind about the Dems.

Listen to what they are saying.

Campaign workers for Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama are under fire for displaying a flag featuring communist hero Che Guevara. But Obama has his own controversial socialist connections. He is, in fact, an associate of a Chicago-based Marxist group with access to millions of labor union dollars and connections to expert political consultants, including a convicted swindler.

Obama’s socialist backing goes back at least to 1996, when he received the endorsement of the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for an Illinois state senate seat. Later, the Chicago DSA newsletter reported that Obama, as a state senator, showed up to eulogize Saul Mendelson, one of the “champions” of “Chicago’s democratic left” and a long-time socialist activist. Obama’s stint as a “community organizer” in Chicago has gotten some attention, but his relationship with the DSA socialists, who groomed and backed him, has been generally ignored.

Buncha lightweight mentors, if you ask me. Hillary would’ve made an even more formidable coach in Marxism.

Have fun with the country you create with Marxism, Democrats. It’ll look a lot like Russia.

Yep, you "Principled Conservatives" are the only thing that has kept the Liberals out of the dustbin of history.

You must be so proud of yourselves!

Yep, I heard about hi supporters and their Che flag.

I wonder how long the Oprah-fied media will continue to give him a pass for his all sizzle and no steak campaign full of "beautiful nothings"?

At least Hillary has finally gotten around to calling him on his total lack of substance. I hope to God Hillary can knock him down, because if she gets the nomination we can beat her - whereas I have serious doubts about being able to beat Obama, what with the way his campaign is sweeping up and collecing people based on FEELINGS rather than thought and substance.

“Yep, you “Principled Conservatives” are the only thing that has kept the Liberals out of the dustbin of history. You must be so proud of yourselves!” ~ Redleg Duke

They keep tryin’ to “send a message”, don’tchknow? They need to replace their tantrums with some clarity of thought. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over expecting to get a different result every time.

Rush in___ October 2006 ___ before the election:

“..But none of it still clicks logically to me why you expect — or why you think — by sending your own people out of power adds up to a good thing, especially positioning you for a re-conquest of that power in 2008. I’ll tell you what’s going to happen. If the Republicans lose the House and the Senate because of principled conservatives who exercise their power by doing nothing, by staying home and [not] voting, and if the Democrats win, they’re not going to stop being kooky and they can’t start being kooky because they are kooky to begin with. It stuns me. ...

“..The idea facilitating all this, while hiding under this or behind the banner of: “I’m principled and they’ve let me down and they need to be taught a lesson.”

Well, fine and dandy, but why is it that you don’t think the left needs to be taught a lesson for their absolutely unbelievable childish, immature, and dangerous behavior the last five years? How do they escape your wrathful eye? How is it that the Democrats somehow don’t make you mad? What is this death wish that some of you have? Why is it you cannot see who the real problem in America is or who your real enemy is in a political sense? Why can’t you see it? And if you do see it, then would somebody explain to me how ignoring the enemy and allowing them to gain more power somehow advances your cause? It may make you feel better, and it may mean that you are selfish, and it may mean you’re trying to portray yourself as smarter and more forward thinking than anybody else.

But it’s a death wish, particularly this notion that they’re not going to get anything done in the next two years anyway, and they’ll learn a lesson. Let me tell you about learning a lesson. In two years, you same people who will have helped bring about an ascension to power by the Democrats are going to be so angry; you’re going to be so fed up over what they have tried to do, over the things they will maybe have accomplished, that you are going to demand power back — and you will accept anybody that you think has a chance of winning it.

Right now, that looks like McCain above anybody else — who, I must tell you, is not a conservative — and so what are you probably going to end up doing? You’re going to be so frustrated by 2008 and the thought of Hillary Clinton becoming president is so obnoxious, so abhorrent, that in 2008, you will flush your precious principles down the drain and elect a Republican, precisely the kind of Republican you think you’re running against now. Or you will at least nominate one. Who knows how that election will go. So the very principle that you are fighting here, if you succeed, you will be given a candidate who fits the very thing you’re angry about, somebody who’s not conservative enough, but probably has the best chance of winning. ...” excerpted from:

Disaster Does Loom if Democrats Win,and Will Lead to Nomination of McCain

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: I want to continue on the theme that has evolved over the past couple of days, maybe even a little bit longer than that and that is the notion, well, there’s an argument out there raging between noted professionals like me and rank amateurs over whether or not it’s a smart thing to do to not vote in this election. I’ve heard this before. You know, I’ve heard the argument, “Well, the Republicans abandoned their principles, and I’m not going to abandon mine, so screw them!” The last time this happened in significant numbers to deleterious effect was 1992, when a bunch of Republicans said to hell with Bush 41 and the no-new-taxes promise that he broke.

“We have to show these guys a lesson,” so we ended up with eight years of Bill Clinton — and ...” [snip] http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1968154/posts?page=42#42

I agree. As much as I can stand Slick Hillie,,,,Obama puts her to shame when it comes to being a MARXIST!!! Just look at ALL of his blantantly socialist rhetoric (in between the sickening "YES WE CAN", "WE CAN DO IT", "OUR TIME HAS COME", "CHANGE", BS revival platitudes)!!!!

Hillary's 'class envy/class warfare' policies pale in comparison with his. He is truly scary.
