Had he been really on the ball, he would have given them DDT

We did. The UN and enviro-wieners convinced some African countries that it was a danger so these countries banned DDT. The countries who were smart enough to ignore the UN, are wiping out the problem with regular spraying. (saw a 60 minutes story about it)

Makes you wonder if they are worried more about the sympathy value of all these deaths. Where is the common sense??

Bush seems to be FAR more interested in impressing assorted Dems and Liberals, and Muslims than he is in impressing the base that put him into office.

I'M certainly not impressed with him or his DAD.

As a 56-year-old, I still often see myself as that 22-year-old rock and roll drummer who opened for “Steppenwolf.”

....and blasted the U.S. press for ignoring the achievement.

The MSM would heap non-stop praise upon a Democrat President were he to do what Bush is doing, of that there's no doubt. And I suspect Geldof knows that.

So we borrow money from China to give to Africa (and Southeast Asia!), but nobody demands China give us debt relief as their part?

I would love to see some thanks for the American taxpayers, too.

Finally. Credit where credit is due. I am amazed.

Seeing the reception our President has gotten in Africa (ad a few other countries) makes me smile. I do appreciate the work he has done and it’s good to see that others do as well.

Yet still he is called a worst terrorist than bin laden and America is seen as a source of evil in the world.

I'm gratified that a number of FReepers appreciate why this is a GOOD use of our tax money--because it is.

And the self-professed Christians who don't think saving African lives by the millions from death is a proper use of our tax money make me proud to be an atheist.
