Penn: Hillary Will Mount a Commander-In-Chief Offensive
National Review Online ^ | February 20, 2008 | Byron York

Posted on 02/20/2008 10:50:20 AM PST by kingattax

On a conference call, top strategist Mark Penn just told reporters that in the next two weeks Hillary Clinton will go after Barack Obama on the issue of who is better qualified to be commander-in-chief — and Penn suggested that Clinton would be a better commander of the nation's armed forces than both Obama and John McCain. "She is the only person in this race who is both ready to be commander-in-chief and would end the Iraq war and start to bring troops home within 60 days, compared to both Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain," Penn told reporters.

Later, Penn made it clear that Clinton will push the commander-in-chief issue in coming days. "The Republican nominee has extensive credibility in this area, and the Democrat is going to need to be commander-in-chief," Penn said. Obama has "relatively no experience in national security," Penn continued, an issue that "is going to be reflected in the debates that we have over the next couple of weeks."

UPDATE: Later in the call, the Clinton team was asked whether the not-qualified-to-be-commander-in-chief criticism of Obama was going too far, given that it would be used by Republicans against Obama if Obama is the Democratic nominee against John McCain. "We don't believe that he is the one who will face John McCain," Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said. "This is a legitimate question that Sen. Obama would face if he were the nominee, and it is a question that he is facing as a result of criticism from Sen. McCain now, so I think it's perfectly appropriate."

Shrillary knows how to stamp her foot, shriek and cackle, throw lamps and ashtrays, and then cry when she doesn’t get her way.

Yes, she’s obviously ideally suited to be CinC. /s

Why don't we let the military decide this one...

Yeah, I’m sure that’s right. Like everything about Hillary and the Klintoons, her professed love of Sox was all a ruse to humanize her. Sox was simply a prop, to be used, and discarded when no longer necessary.

Their dog gets hit and killed by a car, the cat is given away... The sleaze doesn’t stop with humans.

After the way she treated our men in uniform as first lady she has a lot of nerve suggesting they would prefer her!!
My son is waiting to reenlist until he knows she will NOT be the CIC!!

"She is the only person in this race who is both ready to be commander-in-chief and would end the Iraq war and start to bring troops home within 60 days, compared to both Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain,"

I heard the theme song to Wonder Woman playing in the background.

Obama has "relatively no experience in national security,"

And Clinton's experience is exactly what? Her talking on the phone to poor Chelsea as daughter jogged around the falling WTC towers on 9-11-01 and stopped just long enough to phone mommie and complain that Bush's tax cuts caused the towers' collapse?

Using her own logic, couldn’t we compare her to Michael Vick?

“Hillary as commander-in-chief is offensive.”

I can relate to her as commander-in-thief though.

If I lived in Texas I’d be voting for Hillary to keep the battle alive in the rat party and hopefully spill swimmingpools of rat blood on the rat convention floor.

An easy kill by Obama, as satisfying as it might seem, isn’t the best thing for our side. (Assuming we still have a side.)

This is wonderful, the Clintonistas will savage Obama Hussein over the next two weeks as unfit to be CinC (obviously true) and then either Obama still gets the nomination but seriously weakened, or else if Shrillary somehow pulls off the nomination she will have earned the deep-seated enmity of millions of minority voters and other libs who will detest her more than ever........

Of course, Shrillary is also completely unqualified and unsuited to be CinC, no matter what her years of WH tantrums might say........ if only the public at large could understand how completely she despises the military, and how badly she treated uniformed personnel in and around the WH etc.

She definitely has a track record in that regard. Did the WH ever get their silverware back from these thieves ?

...what possible argument are they using to back up the assertion that Hillary is qualified to be commander-in-chief?

She was married to one.

No, but the Clintons never got the complete set to begin with. Why do you think she wants to go back so badly? Instating socialism is just the perk.

I'd be worried that Vick might sue for slander. Vick is where he belongs for torturing animals. As evil and vicious as that is, comparing him to Hillary is a bit too tough on Mike, I think.

(Outstanding Tag line, btw)

Denial isn’t just a river; apparently, it’s now a campaign strategy

I believe it's more sinister than denial. She will do whatever she needs to do - if that means pick him off (literally or physically) she will do it, all while assuming the mantle of his martyrdom.
