Look, the NYT just got the scandal a little twisted, it wasn’t about sex, it was about access and campaign donations from the telecommunications lobby.

McCain’s dirty, but he’s not a fool. He got in trouble when he was in the house for sex. The ethics charges were dismissed, but he learned his lesson and has been know for keeping his pants zipped.

If Miss Hitlery is not responsible for this smear, then someone sure used the Clinton-politics-of-personal-destruction model.

I bet McCain had to hold back the laughter when he said he was “disappointed” in the NYT. Very few things can increase a politician’s conservative cred like an attack by New York Times.

C’mon, these are Clintonistas doing this.

Ya think? I wouldn't go so far to blame it on them, I think they have their hands full trying to stay in the race. I think it's just a general Liberal attack.

I don't believe the article, the writer and the NYT for one bit. Although I am not a huge fan of McCain, there is one certain, proven, exemplary statement he should make that will successfully squelch this story be done with it.

John, just tell the public – and look straight into the camera and shake your finger and very dramatically say : "I never had sex with that woman - Ms. Iseman."

It worked sooo well for dear ole Billy boy when he was similarly involved with a Ms. Lewinsky in the Oval Office, and the liberals believed him, unconditionally and even defended him. So, John, it should work for you, even if you are a Republican Senator doing battle for POTUS. That's all the liberals showed us that they need to hear, and they will drop this foolishness because, after all, all those liberals believe that your private life is your private life, no matter where you are or what office you hold. They proved that when they gave Clinton a pass about his escapades, so they certainly will treat you with the same reaction - right???

/sarcasm off

One thing I've noticed that there isn't a picture of the lady. Must be someone good looking, and would support your theory. Here she is... not bimbo quality, but not a turn-off either --- IHMO.

Bottom line: The slut took a paid political ad and disguised it as a news story. Makes me wonder who is paying the McClatchy papers’ stridently anti-US correspondants in Iraq.

The McClatchy papers paid back the bribe they took from the lib money-mill in the Kentucky case but only because they were publicly exposed.
Some loyal American with really deep pockets needs to fund a comprehensive investigation of pro-terror corruption in the media-industrial complex.

She looks like a wholesome, attractive, woman, the kind a good guy would like to be married to, and would be proud to be seen in public with.

I don’t like McCain, I don’t like him a lot, but this isn’t going to hurt him. I don’t believe the story is true, and even it it were, as you say, she’s no bimbo.

I’m with PETA and I’m very troubled about your suggestion that people should expose their birds to the toxic waste known as the New York Times. If you do not immediately withdraw your remarks we will have no other choice but to contact our terrorist arm to burn down the NYT in order to protect domesticated pet birds worldwide.

Before becoming an investigative reporter for the Times... Marilyn W. Thompson was editor of one of the leading newspapers in Kentucky... took money from a liberal activist group to hire a Democrat Congressional Fellow for a hit piece on a leading Republican senator.

This is no doubt why the New York Times hired her - - she's a perfect fit, ie., a liberal Democrat who is brazen in her corruption and dishonesty. Does anybody expect anything better from the New York Times these days? Sorry, but I don't see the story here.

IIRC they did the same thing to Bush 41 during the election, claiming he had an affair with Jeanne Kirkpatrick who was our UN rep for a time.

This is not going to be good news for the anti-McCain crowd here.

On the contrary, it's hilarious!

McCain throws the conservatives under the bus to please the New York Times and then at the first opportunity the New York Times throws McCain under the bus.

What goes around comes around.

A KY. Ping, Please. :)

...mentions, the Lexington Herald (mis)Leader slam of Sen. McConnell...

Before becoming an investigative reporter for the Times, Pulitzer Prize winner Marilyn W. Thompson was editor of the Lexington Herald-Leader in Kentucky... when she was editor of one of the leading newspapers in Kentucky, took money from a liberal activist group to hire a Democrat Congressional Fellow for a hit piece on a leading Republican senator.

She looks like a wholesome, attractive, woman, the kind a good guy would like to be married to...

Sanity check, Eagle.

Admittedly, I don't now a thing about her other than she is professional Washington Lobbyist --- the ultimate beltway denizen.

I would advise any man looking to marry one of them critters to have an iron clad pre-nup in place, or better yet, to have his damn head examined. Nothing good can come out of it regardless of how they 'look.'

Just MHO, but their profession is about the same as prostitution only that with lobbyists, the sex part is optional.
