Anytime John McCain declines to speak to the press, something horrible must be happening.
Back in New Hampshire, McCain held press conferences after every event, taking questions from reporters more often than he'd rub his lucky nickel. In Iowa, he would talk to scribes for hours on his bus, get off and then 30 minutes later hold an avail. The journalists would look at each other, bemused and defeated, with no questions left.
But Thursday was a different matter. In the wake of a scandalous New York Times story suggesting a romantic fling with a lobbyist, McCain arrived at a Ford Focus car assembly plant with a decidedly tense grin plastered across his face. His campaign staff promptly separated anyone with a pen or a tape recorder from the candidate. "The McCain campaign decided who they wanted on the tour, and it's only photographers," a nice lady from Ford announced after a reporter spotted the candidate behind a car chasse and tried to approach him.

I have a feeling the older crowd in this election will go McCain like never before.. Over 45-50.
I DO hope McCain wins. But it doesn’t look good unless he does a bang-up job of revealing Obama’s complete unpreparedness for the job and Obama’s far left agenda.
A vote for McAmnesty, is a vote for the destruction of the GOP and my Country.
He will grant Amnesty to 20-40 million Illegal Alien invaders who will vote Democrat, thereby dooming the GOP to minority status for decades to come.
By granting Amnesty he will forever alienate millions of conservatives from the GOP which will further doom the GOP.
Not going to do it, wouldn’t be prudent.
Too bad. Really. But a forgone conclusion, none the less. To succeed in the WOT, one must have a Conservative, and a warhawk. That ship sailed long ago. The assumption that a traitorous bastard of a RINO fits that mold is a mistake of gargantuan proportions.
Vote WAR? Then vote Conservative.
Hiya AIT. Nice to see ya. ;)
The RNC set the primary schedule, and the rules. They allowed cross-over voters. They did this to help Giuliani. Unfortunately for them, they messed up big time, and allowed the other team to select our nominee.
" What I do know is were screwed."
What I know now is that the influential ones are rallyng around McCain, where there had been resentment before.
The NYT screwed the pooch on this one, and will regret it.
Panty wadding.
McCain 2008 -Bite the Pillow.
LOL!
It’s a generation gap if I’ve ever seen one!
Of course, that takes into account that the young Obama voters will actually get out of bed, and go vote.
They don’t have a great history...
LOL!
Not in all the month you’ve been here huh? LOL
God love your family, and friends, for being so intuitive.
Personally, I feel fortunate that you are here.
You have street cred with me.
Please...stop it.
If you have nothing more than “Not in all the month youve been here huh? LOL”
then you have nothing to add.
McCains conservative record. My collection.
FR links on McCain's record from Feb. 2000. MrChips collection.
What a mess this election is.
I crossed over and voted Obama...since our nominee was already determined anyway.
I’ll probably vote for McCain despite amnesty....but I won’t be happy about it.
Sure I do. See the post after yours. LOL
OK, two post after yours. ; )
Shill shill shilly shill. Yawn...
“Obama wants to give illegals drivers licenses so they can vote immediately.
McCain has to play to the Mexican population to win the general election. The latin population has no great love for a black Muslim.”
I KNEW you were a good poster. ;o)
Thank you!
I don’t like McCain at all, but he’s better than any alternative that we have.
If folks are going to continue to be angry, they do so at their own peril.
