Surely, they knew the University to be a secular institution when they applied. Surely, they know that as a secular institution the university would not suppose to favor one religion over another, if they even recognized the concept of religion (some in the US don’t, IMO).
Best response? They might find a university more fitting to the needs and dictates of their barbaric cult in some other, more hospitable country.
Time to put a stop to this madness. The PC multi-culti crowd is shoving our freedoms right down the sewer, in favor of these seventh century freaks. It really is time to stop it.
Islam has been at war with civilzation for over 1400 years, and seems bent on another 1400 if needed, to assure the success of their global caliphate, as demanded by the lunatic ravings of their pedophile prophet, and recorded in their playbook, the quran.
They sicken freedom loving people, everywhere.
And, good on the school that said No to this madness.

"It's reasonable to ask for the lectures to be shifted around on Friday," Sister Abdel-Halim said. "But if it's going to cause havoc with the timetable, I don't think it's really feasible to ask forevery single prayer to be catered for."
No. It is NOT reasonable to ask the university to change its schedule to accommodate any religious group. What part of secular don't these people understand.

Muslims are forgetting their own history. They only get everything their way after they conquer, burn, rape, kill, and enslave.

Get your monkey buttocks back to Saudi Arabia, or whatever country you are from, and quit your whining. Western Countries do not have to bend to the will of jihadis.

I know nothing about the university experience in Australia but, in the US, most students are able to select their courses in such a way as to accommodate sleeping in, Fridays off and a part time job.
If these students who are enjoying the generosity, hospitality and educational opportunities afforded by Australia can’t find a way to accommodate their personal prayer schedules then perhaps they are not smart enough for the complexity of the subjects covered at the university level.

The schools will bend over and grab the ankles for two reasons:
1. Political Correctness. Remember WHO is running education?
2. MONEY. The students are from Saudia Arabia and the money that the schools get in tutition, grants subsidies and gifts from SA oil money is staggering. They also provide, under the radar screen, direct money to professors and their pet projects. What will work against this flood of evil in higher learning?
Prayer.

Does America have a 'collective will' to say ENOUGH!
Has anyone asked Obama his thoughts on the matter of Muslim's matriculating in America? Noticed,in news clip yesterday; what is usually obscurred by camera; Muslims in audience supporting Obama. . .

Admittedly, being American, I am not very familiar with Australian higher education.
Is it entirely unreasonable to assume that if this school merits being called a "university," it is large enough that one could attend the class one would attend in lieu of prayer at a different time? I attend a small community college, and even here all but a very few unpopular classes have many sections. Don't want to take a class at noon? Take it at any one of the other five times.
As for making a female-only area, what's the next step? Forcing the women to stay in that area and not socialize outside of it? (Answer: yes.)
Besides, any woman worth her salt can keep impertinent men away without a "female-only" section. :P
