Ha. Just in time. That cracks me up. WHat that means is you only stock the shelves with the things that won’t stay on the shelves. All the other stuff is special order and it gets there when it feels like it...just in time for you to cancel the order.
I keep kicking myself, because when Stratfor.com predicted a big spike I didn’t act. They said that the Saudi Fields were at peak, and couldn’t be pushed anymore. The predicted this about 3 years ago or more.
I figured it was just the local Westerners griping in their SA compounds. Silly me.
Sure, if somebody has a process that produces at a dollar less a gallon he would clean up in the market. The problem is more distributed than that, though. If there are ten stages from oil well or other source to the gas pump nozzle there are ten people who need to get paid or insist on being paid.
I wonder how much gas prices will increase as vehicles become more fuel efficient.....
I recall some years ago in relation to military base closing that bases could be used for building oil refineries....what happened to that...?......crickets.

True. Food was rotting on the loading dock because nobody could buy it and farmers were shutting down due to no customers. No money. Now we have all the money we can use and reasonable payments too. $20 trillion public and private debt and that’s all the money in the world.

Just an idle retired observer who has read ‘The Prize.’ I buy maybe 40 gallons of gasoline a year for my weekly trip to the supermarket. The SUV will last 600 years at the rate I am running up the odometer.
Our ancestors had a revolution when the tax on tea etc. went over 3%.
The are doing a big expansion to a refinery in South Louisiana. Hopefully, that will help.

What is being done RIGHT NOW to enable dramatic increase in the manufacture of gasoline?
We could be major players in this supply thing. It’s been done before. If everybody fills up or everybody runs on a quarter tank that is a huge amount of gasoline. I like to top off the tank every couple of months, maybe six gallons a shot. Run full, draw down the excess.
