Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Thursday that Israel must prepare for an escalation of the situation in Gaza and warned a large-scale ground incursion was no longer just a theory. "We are not afraid of taking such a step," Barak said.
The defense minister said that Israel would strike at those responsible for the attacks and vowed that Hamas would pay for its actions. (Hanan Greenberg)

Could be that the Israeli government is finally recognizing that the “disengagement” from Gaza two years ago was a huge mistake.
